Perhaps this guy had only recently contracted the disease and wasn't sure about how to deal with it?
Perhaps it was a total spur of the moment thing and YES HE SHOULD HAVE made a better decision!!
But lets' not assume he's the worst person in the world because he made one mistake.
This mistake doesn't make him a bad person for life.
Yes - I hope he's learnt his lesson!
I bet he did tell you because he felt guilty.
I guarantee he did plan on telling you beforehand but choked up.
And afterward is too late - yes, but its not the END OF THE WORLD!
Having the herpes virus does not change you for life and make you a disease-ridden 'No-Go Zone' person.

It is so highly contracted that there's a good chance you have the virus in your system from kissing Granny who had coldsores when you were a little child - in which case, you have antibodies in you to fight it off.
There is a very low percent chance of contracting it.
Don't freak out honey.
I have the virus and it was hard to lump when I contracted it and I though I was gonna be a 'No-Go-Zone' for the rest of my life - but that was before I read all about the Myths vs Facts about it - and the virus is extremely common, I spoke to some great people on the phone on the Herpes Hotline and found out all about it and was put at ease that I am not a freak...
If you have it - its not a big issue.
It is for life, but its not a massive thing - its like a little nuisance skin irritation that sometimes occurs.
Its only a big issue for people who are small minded.
If you don't have it - great - be wise, use protection - be proactive and make sure YOU ask in the future before heavy petting gets out of hand. (that is if you are not with this guy anymore).
Get the blood tests, and you will know.
I personally do not think that the guy is the worst guy in the world SOLELY BASED ON THIS MATTER - you can't judge a person like that people. Consider for one second what may have been going through this guys mind - what if this was the first person he's been with since contracting the STI - It is a huge thing to cope with emotionally, more than physically. He may have messed up - but we can all learn from it.
As someone said - be thankful it wasn't something more serious that he was contracting - YOU ARE RIGHT - But it wasn't!!!
Lets be loving and kind, and not judge a person based on one decision.
