A Question RE: Oral sex
Could someone please tell me this: if a woman performs oral sex on a male 'without' using a condom fitted on the reciever, or a male performs it on another male without a condom, what are the risks of disease / infections etc? 'Or' a female performs oral on another woman, is it dangerous no matter what the other persons sexual background is - prostitute / escort etc? Thanks -
A prostitute could have a cleaner STI history than your monogamous, married next door neighbor. It's a numbers game. Those people who are involved sexually with many people are statistically more likely to have come into contact with a disease. This doesn't discount the possibility of simply coming into contact with the wrong person at the wrong time - so no matter the number of previous or current partners, safety is key. Cunnilingus and fellatio (at the very least, in the best case scenario
) still involve swapping bodily fluids.

Basically if you see a sore you are in trouble. If they tell you they have a disease or infection you are in trouble. If you see some puss you are in trouble. If you are doing so without them telling you well you are playing Russian roulette-this is simply the case with many sexual encounters since not everyone knows they have an infection. But for those with an infection think of it as licking a petri dish of infectious bacteria/viruses with your eyes closed. You may not see the bacteria but you know they are there (such as in the case of someone admitting they have an infection). By licking that hypothetical petri dish your chance of getting an infection is very high but you could honestly lick that petri dish and not get an infection if there is a small amount of bacteria on that dish-the chance of that outcome is extremely low if the infection is already rampant. The best option in that case is to avoid the dish lol. If someone admits they have a disease simply do not do anything. If that person is worth green puss and blistering burning oozing sores then okay fine have a blast but honestly if they say they have an infection just do not do anything. There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.Comment

A larger number of sexually transmitted infections are done skin to skin, meaning if there are cuts (even microscopic ones that you can't see) and blood/fluid from an infected person come in contact with it, the infection can be transfered. Its true that oral on a woman carries the least amount of risk, but it is not risk free. HVP has recently been increasing in numbers and 30-40 year olds are suddenly being diagnosed with throat cancer due to contracting it in their youth via unprotected oral sex.Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose - Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster (sung by Janis Joplin)Comment

Thanks for all your advice etc! I realise that oral sex would not feel anywhere near as enjoyable or as sensitive feeling if a condom is used.
I have always fantasised about my wife (of nearly 30 yrs marriage) being willing to give me oral sex as a surprise but unfortunately, it's not her type of thing at all & never will be, it's not her type of thing to allow me to give 'her' oral. I did try it once briefly with her but I got pushed away as she didn't like the thought of my mouth down there at all! So my chance will never cum (excuse the pun!) unfortunately!Comment

I'm really sorry your wife feels that way. If you treat her well in bed, then it is very sad and even selfish that she won't do something that matters so much to you.
When something like this is denied, it can grow in importance, and make you feel yo are missing some important part of your life, make you very tempted to find it somewhere else. In the end though you may be disappointed - the fantasy has probably built up in your mind far beyond the reality.
I wish more people would make a real effort to do what their partners enjoy in bed.Comment

You've received enough responses to answer your question, any time body fluids are being exchanged there is risk, but EVEN dry skin, according to some speculators in the STD field, can transmit herpes specifically in the lower torso and upper leg area as the virus can apparently "sloth" off. I think it's improbable, but some doctors may tell their patients that it's possible in an effort to protect them as much as they're able, and therefore encourage as much protection as possible.Comment

Hi rcoreyrus! I have even purchased an assortment of male & female sex toys within the past 2 years to try to put a bit more 'excitement' into our sex lives. My wife allowed me to use some on her, but she still prefers the 'natural' way (penis) & so the toys just come out on rare occassions. I sometimes seem to get a lot more aroused using them on her than performing intercourse! We have tried numerous positions over the years which are enjoyable. But the one I prefered the most (her on top) is her least favourite - it was a bit too uncomfortable for her 'insides' area for some reason? On rare occassions (instead of nights), we have had sex during the daytime & I have found it even more exciting as there is more 'natural' light to view her genitals in full view & I thoroughly enjoy seeing myself even more while penetrating her. I get very aroused & try experimenting by pulling / stretching her nippples outwards as far as she can allow me too - which makes them very erect for longer!
So I am getting numerous 'other' arousing types of acts to enjoy instead, even if being able to perform oral on her is a 'out' of bounds now!
But I still fantasise about giving it & recieving it. Even external anal touching is out of bounds too.Comment
