Porn induced ED
Something I have been wanting to post on here about is porn induced erectile dysfunction. I think it is starting to become a real problem out there, but people are just now starting to become aware of it. I'll share some of my experience. I'm only 33 yrs. old, and I started having problems getting it up with my ex. I went to the doctor and was even prescribed the little blue pill. When that didn't even work I got really worried. Then I started to wonder if my porn use was the source. I was addicted to it, and I sort of knew that, but I never thought it would have any serious side effects. It turns out there are A LOT of side affects. One of which is ED. Another is isolation, and moodiness, etc. I learned all of this through a certain web site that I found. I would provide the link but I know that is not allowed. I'm sure if you do a web search for porn induced ED, you will find it. This guy and his wife started this site. It is not religiously oriented, and the guy makes sure to note that he and his wife are not opposed to porn or masturbation. The guy has a really good little presentation on there all about how it affects the brain. I've started to see this phenomenon popping up in more and more medical information sites too. I just wanted to bring this up because I have seen a few posts on here from women who's men are having problems. The good news is that it is cure-able. It took me like 3 months of no porn or masturbation to finally get back to where I am having regular, healthy erections again. The bad part is that often, when women find out their man is addicted to porn, it is very hurtful to them. I will say that porn addiction is not as much about how good looking the girls are, or how they act, etc. as far as being turned on by them and not your significant other. It's all about novelty, and getting the next "fix" of dopamine rush. Anyway, if anybody is having problems on here along those lines, I would encourage you to do some research on it.
Cheers. -

I think your right I been looking at porn deeply for the past 10 years and I've had enough I feel like a crackhead because most of the time these days porn doesn't even get me off and I can go for like 2-3 hours on end beating off without even busting a nut so I do agree with you on it being a fix like crack. it mentally messed up my mind even worsen than before especially with women when I was younger I looked at them as sex objects and now I'm trying to change that but its a hard thing to do. I read porn star confessions which were very vulgar (and most of these women claim to have had std's and on drugs, had abortions, porn babies, prolapsed uterus's and butt holes, I even seen some vids where the women performers start freaking out and breaking down during a scene) this caused me to vowed no to beat off to porn again but I still get caught in the trap. I went from hardcore to amateur and back. but it has also messed up my erections as well I still get morning wood but I don't get the hard on that I'm use to having. How were you able to go three months without beating off please let me know cuz I think if I can go three months without looking at porn or beating off I can go the rest of my life not looking at it again. I'm also curious to know what dosage of viagra did you use thanks for the site I will definitely check out the site and I encourage all couples to check it out as well luckily for me I'm pretty much single so thank god I never had a poor innocent woman having to deal with me and this please respond to my post I really need to quit looking at porn and beating off -

Then stop..........?? You're the only person that can make that happen.please respond to my post I really need to quit looking at porn and beating off
I have. And as a woman, it's an incredibly frustrating topic. I experienced this in my last relationship....with a 26 year old man. He tried to blame his ED on a barage of other things. But what it came down to in my opinion was porn and masturbation. He would go from admitting that it was most likely causing the issue and therefore he would insist that he'd stop. Then a month later the issue would still be there and he'd reveal that he didn't stop because he had decided something else must've been causing the issue. Because of the porn and masturbation, I got about 15% of him. Porn got the rest. Our relationship ended.Anyway, if anybody is having problems on here along those lines, I would encourage you to do some research on it.Comment

Porn addiction is a type of sex addiction. There really isn't much research on the topic. Most experts use the 12 step approach they wuse in AA, but there is no research showing it works. All the sex addiction groups (just google them, there are a few), use this approach. Its worth a shot if you feel this is really impacting your life. There are also lot of expective sex rehab center, mostly celebrities use them. Not sure how well those work either. The other option is see a sex therapist for help.
Remember, this is an addiction which means you must give it up completely and deal with preventing relapse for the rest of your life.
PS. I wrote a school paper on sex addiction. I think I will post to my blog if anybody wants to check it out.Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose - Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster (sung by Janis Joplin)Comment

This is indeed an addiction. But the people I have found to be most helpful on this topic have made sure to draw a distinction between it being a sex addiction, and porn addiction. They give a number of reasons why and what the differences are. But yes, it is an addiction, which means that guys who have the addiction have a very tough time stopping. The Gary Wilson is the person that I have found to be most informative on this topic. He and his wife Marnia run a web site where you can get the best information. I wish I could link to it but I don't want to get booted like I did for linking to it last time. lol. Just do a web search for "your brain on porn". That's the best I can do. It is a very difficult thing to give up. They say that the reason for the increased instances of ED is the availability of porn on the internet. Because porn addicts have unlimited access to novel porn, their dopamine spike stays constant to the point that the brain is essentially desensitized. This is why the phenomenon is starting to get some recognition, and just starting to be distinguished from sex addiction. Sex addiction, from what I am told, is addiction to the rush a person gets from being with new and novel partners. In porn addiction, the person is essentially addicted to porn; they cannot respond to real partners. I can say that I have been feeling A LOT better since I stopped "using" porn. I wish this information had been widely known a long time ago. I would really encourage anybody who feels like they are unable to control their porn use to look for information about the subject. It really can change your life in a positive way if you decide to quit.Comment

"Because of the porn and masturbation, I got about 15% of him. Porn got the rest. Our relationship ended."
That is what happened to me too BD. She had issues of her own, too, but this was a big one. I never even knew the source of my ED until the end of our relationship though. And I never told her once I found out because it was too late. All I could worry about was working on the problem and healing myself. It sucked because she would get all upset when I couldn't perform. But I had no idea why it was happening or how to stop it. That's why I wanted to post something on here about this. I feel bad for the women because it is hurtful to them, and they can't understand that for the guys it isn't so much about the "hot" girls in porn as much as it is just being addicted to the nero-chemical rush. My ex was a very cute girl. I knew she was hot, but I couldn't respond to her. Not because she wasn't a porn actress, but because she wasn't a porn actress on a computer screen. It is a weird, and frustrating thing to experience for sure. I also feel bad for the guys out there who are addicted because it is **** near impossible to stop, and their relationships are doomed if they don't.Comment

I hate you had to deal with that it has a pretty negative effect on women maybe even worse than men as some women get anxiety and self-esteem issues and start thinking they're not good enough for their man and they cant compete with sally porn ho I've cut down but I have my binges from time to time and I want to not ever look at porn again. another thing that f**ked me up was reading shelley lubbens website where she has porn star confessions and every woman she had on there said they hated porn and it seems like women who do that are getting raped for money and most of the performers have std's and I even read some where some women had abortions and babies from porn its terrible and a lot of people thinks its fun and games even jenna jamison complained about the super huge dudes she had perform with. some of the women get prolapsed uterus and ***holes from all the pounding man sometimes I feel sorry for the women who do that to their body as I age I like to pleasure women not give them pain that whole F**kin industry is the devilThen stop..........?? You're the only person that can make that happen.
