The Gary Wilson is the person that I have found to be most informative on this topic. He and his wife Marnia run a web site where you can get the best information. I wish I could link to it but I don't want to get booted like I did for linking to it last time. lol. Just do a web search for "your brain on porn". That's the best I can do. It is a very difficult thing to give up. They say that the reason for the increased instances of ED is the availability of porn on the internet. Because porn addicts have unlimited access to novel porn, their dopamine spike stays constant to the point that the brain is essentially desensitized. This is why the phenomenon is starting to get some recognition, and just starting to be distinguished from sex addiction. Sex addiction, from what I am told, is addiction to the rush a person gets from being with new and novel partners. In porn addiction, the person is essentially addicted to porn; they cannot respond to real partners. I can say that I have been feeling A LOT better since I stopped "using" porn. I wish this information had been widely known a long time ago. I would really encourage anybody who feels like they are unable to control their porn use to look for information about the subject. It really can change your life in a positive way if you decide to quit.
youre right with the developments in technology porn is all over cyberspace I actually believe the performers say they don't make a lot of money I hear the dudes only make 2-300 per scene and I think its because of its essentially free on the internet with all those tube video sites I don't see many people going to the store to buy stuff I just seen one with chyna from wwe on it last night I think in order to stop looking at porn I would advise not to browse the net when you're board and when u use a computer have a set destination and get off which im about to do right now

Could this also cause the person to rely on a PSE (Potnstarexperience) to get aroused? Or can it make healthy active sex seem boring. As example; they rely on their spouse to perform self sexual acts in order to get aroused.

IEGirl -- welcome to the forum. We are glad to have you here.

Before you respond to a post, look at the date it was posted. This is a 2 year old thread and James1978 hasn't been back here since May, 2012. Its easier for all if we respond to relatively recent posts.
