And, he's gotten better at making sex about me too. I had another post "Sex is tearing our relationship apart" but since then, he's gotten better at pleasing me and taking his time to warm me up to it. Not just dropping his pants. I know that we were both frustrated, but now with my healthier diet and his taking his time with me, we're both sooooooo much happier and I truly believe our relationship has been "saved". I know what it's like to want and love sex now. It's a new experience which I am cherishing.

My sex drive is FINALLY at a healthy level! Ladies, try this!
So, as a lot of you know, the number one problem in my fiance's and my relationship was sex drive differences. He has one, and I don't. Well, that is until about a month ago. I've been on a fitness journey and have whipped my butt into shape finally. And a long with that, I started drinking protein shakes every morning before breakfast. And let me tell you, since then, my sex drive has been almost higher than my fiance's. Now I AM the one asking him for sex rather than the other way around! I wonder if it was a protein imbalance in my system that was causing my zero sex drive?? After YEARS of frustration and tears (literally) on why I never had a drive, I think I've found the answer. My sex drive started when I started drinking protein shakes. Now, I don't think protein shakes in it of itself is the "cure", but maybe try to make sure you are incorporating enough protein into your daily diet. Anyway, I just wanted to share what has worked for me. Sex was really tearing our relationship a part and causing so much tension because he would be horny and I would just do it to make him happy. Now I'm doing it because it actually does make me happy.

I have the same problem as you had. I've tried most everything but not exercise and protein shakes. Tomorrow morning I'm heading to the fitness center for a good workout and on the way home stopping at the market for some protein shakes. Can you tell me what brand of shakes you drink? It might make a difference.sigpic

The most likely cause for your sudden sky high libido is your increased time spent working out and being fit. That alone increases endorphins and overall mental health which does correlate to increased libido. Working out is by no means a quick fix as it would take about as long as you have been active to jump start the libido but if you keep the fitness up then the libido is likely to remain high. It is great to hear that you have been able to stick to such a fitness journey, many give up within the first month. There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.Comment

Thanks!! Actually, I've been working out regularly since February, but it wasn't until June when I started taking protein that my libido started increasing and staying consistent. Maybe that was the little extra boost I needed! The most likely cause for your sudden sky high libido is your increased time spent working out and being fit. Hey Chaya! I use Super Advanced Whey Protein. I just get it from Wal-Mart. It's 14.00 for like a two pound container of it. It lasts my fiance and I a few weeks. I drink an 8 oz serving a day. Definitely try exercise, eating healthy, and protein shakes. I know it has helped me. I've been working out regularly since February, but just this last month when I started incorporating more protein, my libido started increasing. I know that the work outs have helped me a lot even with just my self-confidence. Maybe protein shakes wasn't "THE" answer, but I know it has definitely helped a ton. Told myself 2012 was going to be MY year, and I am loving every minute of it so far! I am SO relieved to have a sex drive. I was at the point where I was looking for doctors to tell me what was wrong with me.I have the same problem as you had. I've tried most everything but not exercise and protein shakes. I'll do anything to get my libido back.

I'll look for that Whey Protein. My libido was super high for the first year after I got married. Then about 7 months ago it went almost flat-line. I've been to doctors and my GYN but nothing they suggested has worked. It has been hard on my husband, I still have sex whenever he wants, even when I don't feel like it, but it's not the same for him when I'm not into it.I use Super Advanced Whey Protein. I just get it from Wal-Mart.
I quit eating meat about the same time I've wondered if that had anything to do with it. I try to get sufficient protein in my diet by eating beans, tofu and other high protein foods but maybe that's not enough. As far as working out, I'm going to school and have been basically a couch potato. I still have 24 hour fitness but hardly ever use it. I need to start and get back in shape.sigpic

Very interesting. Are you replacing meals with the shakes? I doubt that the protein itself is the issue. Most Western diets have too much if anything. I'm very curious to know what other changes you made besides the shake and the exercise."Those sowing seed with tears
Will reap with a joyful shout." - Psalm 126Comment

I don't replace meals with shakes at all. I just drink one before breakfast in the morning. I drink one at around 6:00 AM then eat breakfast at around 8:30 when I'm feeling more hungry. I have a regular lunch and dinner. I lean toward more of a vegetarian diet so I started doing the protein shakes to help supplement. The other change I made was to cut almost all sugar (sweets and sugary drinks and artificial sweeteners) out of my diet but I started that over 100 days ago (been keeping track) and it wasn't until I added the protein that I started noticing a difference. And it doesn't have to be protein shakes per se, I'm just saying to make sure that you have a healthy diet with all the nutrients. Because it definitely helps. I can attest!
