The conversation going on between them not only shocked me but floored me. Openly talking about *******. This at first I thought was putting on a show for us. Then I heard from a friend of ours of kids in the 8th grade at a party picking partners if they did not have a boyfriend or girlfriend to go and pair up with and have oral sex. This not only gets me sick but makes me thank God that I was born when I was and did not have to deal with this.

We are progressing backward. Back to the animals.....How young people of this age can think so unashamedly of their body parts blows my mind. And believe me, I am not old fashioned and very into life.....
    Hello Caroline-

I suspect this could be a child playing around or it could be an adult. The fact that this person came straight for me and none of the other responses that questioned this thread's validity....strongly suggests some things to me. I too have a hard time believing she (if it is a she) is 28 as well. Who knows....perhaps it could happen if a person is very sheltered or is developmentally challenged.

When I heard about children having oral sex it floored me as well. But nothing prepared me for the shock of "rainbow parties". Have you heard about the rainbow parties? It breaks my heart to see this generation's precipitation and decline.

apparently "oprah" had an entire show concerning rainbow parties..i never saw the show but have since read in newspaper articles that "rainbow parties" are supposedly ficticious and based on a book that was written by an author whose name no doubt could be found on the internet..if kids are indeed having these so called parties, they are losing their innocence far too early in life..

I'm 19, just graduated from high school a few years ago, and only ever heard about "rainbow parties" in magazines. Kids get drunk in middle school, do drugs, and have sex with each other, though, younger and younger, but it's just as it was in the "old days;" the ones having sex are the ones with other psychological issues beforehand. I was on a team where I was as a high school senior in charge of about 15 freshman/sophomore girls and a few of them had already had sex, drank copiously, tried weed ... when I hadn't tried any of it.

          Narmeen,
The urine test for pregnancy is your BEST BET at privacy. Go to a market out of town where nobody knows you or have your bravest friend go buy it.
How late is your period? If you have had it already, you are not pregnant and should stop worrying.
The blood test is more effective than urine test, but blood tests can only be given in doctor's offices.
The urine test is a stick that you pee on, wait 10 minutes, and then it will tell you whether you are pregnant or not. It is a really small package, something that once you buy you can hide in your purse until you use and dispose of quickly and discreetly afterwards.
Good luck. Let us know how you're doing.

            Hello dr.mansview-

I have read some things that claim the same thing. I have also seen some teens on t.v. (not Oprah) talking about their personal experiences and participating in rainbow parties. So....who knows what to believe? Even without rainbow parties as a factor I know for a fact oral sex is being practiced on a large scale with teenagers and it's on the incline. Teenagers think it's not really having sex because it's not penetration (some of those same girls in interviews who have done this say they are still virgins because they have not had intercouse). For that same reason it seems these teenagers think it's safer sex as well. As if somehow they can't get an S.T.D. from having oral sex. There are kids having oral sex in the bathrooms at school as well as at parties and video taping it at times. That is not fictitious....it's just alarming!

              Hello little-

Sometimes it's just pure peer pressure! No other psych diagnosis needed.

                Asked and Answered

This has been asked and answered over in the Pregnancy Subforum before it was asked in the Sex Subforum. Asked and answered on the same day as this thread was posted....after receiving answers over in the PS. Asked by the same user and answered....very well by two regular users....Ravsoma and Sourpuss.

They were posted one after another; how many new people don't know not to double post?
I think it's rather mean to be referring to Narmeen as though she wasn't in the thread.
Lots of women because of their parents, their friends, or their culture don't know much about sex, pregnancy, etc. Strange rumours about pregnancy get spread. I can distinctly recall in the 5th grade when we all wondered if you could "get pregnant by having sex with yourself." Our resident "sexpert" (yes, we had one of those in the 5th grade) was the one who set us straight, but what if she hadn't?
Mis-education about pregnancy is rampant. They say you can't get pregnant if you have sex while on your period, but you can. They say you can't get pregnant having sex in water, hot tub, pool, etc, but you can. If it's your first time, if you jump up and down afterwards, if you douche afterwards, if you push on your belly button, if he "doesn't go all the way in," if the girl doesn't orgasm, if the guy drinks a mountain dew beforehand, and my favourite, if you shake up a coke bottle and douche with it.
There are a million wrong sources, so if I have to answer the question a million times on a million different subforums, that's what women's health is about.
I definitely don't mean to be rude, but I don't like the way Narmeen is being treated with such disbelief. We were all uneducated at some point.
Side note: English is a really hard language to learn, moreso than most second languages (I know; I speak 5, working on 6.) So you shouldn't make light of a foreigner's English skills. It's another simply not-nice thing.

                    Hello little-

For the second and final time....I did not make any comments about her English. THAT WAS SOMEONE ELSE! I am not trying to be mean to her, or to you, or to anyone else. Her Threads and Posts are in order in her profile. I still do not believe she is 28 years old. I only made an observation about her posts. After the questions were already answered she still pursued it. Too many things about this don't add up. I am not the only one here who has this concern or has made this observation. If you want to continue exchanging with Narmeen then by all means please do. That is your prerogative. If this is a sincere inquiry then I pray that you can help her. I am done with this discussion. Take Care.

                      Maybe I should have clarified.
One shouldn't make light of a foreigner's English skills.
But you see, that form is nearly "archaic" in American English, and I don't like to bust it out. Makes me look like a "smarty-pants," for the lack of a better word that wouldn't be censored out.
I apparently didn't make it clear that the whole post wasn't directed to you. Forum netiquette as I learned it dictates that one shouldn't double-post; that's what the edit button is for. Double-posting falsely pads one's post count. Double-quotes are simple to achieve and one can make clear to whom one is speaking. I didn't in this case, and for that I'm sorry.
I see someone desperately looking for answers and a solution. I see someone whose language patterns add up. I see someone afraid to ask her close friends and family for help.
Does it matter if she's 28? Does it matter if she's 58? If she doesn't know about these things and wants an education about it, she deserves an education about it.
In an attempt to continue the discussion in a civil manner ...
Sex doesn't become some devious sort of act before a ring on a finger. I am a huge advocate of premarital sex. Who knows, maybe I'll completely regret it someday, but I don't see any problem with premarital sex inside a devoted relationship.
And personally, I don't think of oral sex as "sex," for exactly the same reason you posted, inquisitive1, there's no "penetration." I considered myself a virgin up until I had full penetrative sex with my ex-fiancé. That's just how we "define" sex these days, I guess. That word has taken on the connotation of "penetration," with "sexual acts" taking the place of what you're describing.
If oral sex is "sex," then I lost my virginity at 15, had more sexual partners than I can count twice on both hands, and never saved anything special for the man I was going to marry. I just don't agree with any part of that. I was a virgin until 18, I've only had 2 partners, and I saved something very precious and special for someone special.
Maybe it's a defense mechanism my generation is employing because we are engaging in riskier behaviors. Words carry a great deal of power.
So, according to my definition, I saved myself for a ring, and that ring failed me, as many do. People lie, people leave, and people change. Marriage is not what it used to be, whether it be thanks to one of the people or both. I think that's why views on premarital sex have changed.
And I would like to hear other people's opinions on that.
