The love of my life states "I don't find you attractive sexually...."

    Hello everyone.....
I am new here. My desperation has led me to scour the internet in hopes to find help.......

I am forty seven years old , my wife is thirty four years old. We have been together for thirteen years. almost immediately into our relationship I was in a severe car accident that left me with severe brain damage. For several years it went misdiagnosed as mania. During those four or five years, I tortured my wife with violence both verbal & physical. FINALLY, I was correctly diagnosed with brain damage stemming from the car accident. It effected the right hemisphere & frontal lobe. ( where the impulses for violence etc... were effected). Once they took me off the wrong medication & treated me properly it was as if a light switch went on. I was the old me. Little by little my wife started to tell me of the horrible things I did to her and everyone....

I needed to give that background information to help you understand the ongoing situation:

Since 2005, I have been properly treated for my injury I have made a concerted effort to make it up to my wife for everything I put her through.... We love each other very much, however she holds me accountable for my past actions. While I try very hard to make up for the past, she says "I am perfect now in every way" and we are perfect together in every way EXCEPT, the bedroom. She tells me she is not attracted to me at all sexually and that she has no desire to be with me. While she has never & would never deny me sex, she knows I would never be with her while she feels this way. When we try to make love, I see how she is reacting during the lovemaking. She rubs her head as if to get the sun out of her eyes. She looks "beyond" me & when she does engage eye to eye she makes a fake smile. I have to practically pry her legs open. She truly does try to "be there " but I can tell she doesn't want me.... As a result I quickly lose my manhood & stop....... Time after time it goes on this way. I end up going down stairs, alone to reflect. I have given up on sleeping in bed with her years ago because it hurts too much to lay next to her & not be able to touch her ..... Foreplay of any kind is off limits. I want to please her in every way, however she denies me the chance to. She tells me I am too wrapped up in her (obsessed) She says that I love her too much & that it is unhealthy for me.

It has gotten so bad that I have been getting jealous of the affection she gives to our dog.... Wishing it was me that she was caressing & kissing.

And this is all because of your behavior after the accident? It wasn't like this at all before? Have you asked her if it's ever possible for her to want you and what you could do to get to that point?

I know a guy who had a stroke (friend of my dad, 41 yrs old I think), and after the stroke he changed a lot. After he had a stroke he became really horny and would send me emails telling me how sexy he thought I was, and how he wanted to "F-CK" me all day and all night. I was only 16 at the time, and it was really strange to me to having such a older guy pursuing sex with me as if he was 16-17 years old. People tried to talk to him about his obsession with sex and chasing girls (even his pastor), he would nod in agreement, but then the next day I would get more wacko email saying he loved me more than life itself and he knew we were soul mates.

I had to change my email address and got a new cell phone. Last I heard he was chasing some other girl who lived in the same apartment complex where he lived.

        Hi,

Thanks for the reply.. Yes, My wife & I have spoken in depth about this. She states that since I was properly diagnosed 7 years ago I have been the perfect husband to her. She just cannot get past what happened prior.... It is killing me to think I hurt her so badly.....

          Hi Lisa,

I'm not stalking her.... She is my wife and we do love each other very deeply.

          Thanks!

Oh, I didn't mean anything like that, I just meant to say that people who have accidents where their brain is injured can problems beyond their control.

That guy who had the stroke was no threat to me or anyone, he could barely walk with a cane, and had trouble talking too. He just started acting a lot different than before his stroke; he acted more like a very horny teenage boy than a man. I was just being friendly to him, and he somehow got it into his mind that we were "Soul mates"

Nekros, have you asked her specifically if it's possible for you two to get past this or should you expect the rest of your life with her to be this way? If so what did she say? Also, was she affectionate before?

I ask because maybe what you put her through was absolutely horrible, but there's a possibility that it's not just you. 7 years is a long time to hold a grudge against the perfect mate who misbehaved because of something he had no control over. I'm not saying that prolonged mistreatment won't leave scars regardless of the degree of responsibility. What I'm trying to understand is whether or not there's a willingness to heal and move forward. And also whether or not things were ever as you'd like them to be. Because there's also the possibility that what happened is an excuse. There are plenty of sexually frigid people who love their mates deeply and have never been mistreated. Love doesn't necessarily correlate to passion.

NEKROS, please tell us how the accident happened.

                    Hi Stillness,

We were indeed perfect sexually before this. Before the accident we were together two years. Her main worry she use to say would be that I would tire of her affection towards me. Example: She was always kissing every inch of my body. She was the most incredible lover I have ever had. We moved as one both in mind, spirit and physically during lovemaking. Over the course of those few years, we had video taped ourselves a couple of times. Today, all I have are my memories of those times and my videotapes of us which I play frequently to help cope that at one time she loved being with me sexually. I get very upset both at what I have done to her and us.... It hurts very much even when I am watching a movie on T.V. and there are love scenes.... My eyes are drawn away from the screen.... I always hurt not being able to even watch others doing things that I don't have anymore with her.
She admits that she is holding all the resentment inside. You are correct she does hold a grudge after all these years. I am perplexed as to how to start the healing process within her.....

My wife is truly a spectacular person in every way.... except in bed. I love her deeply.
