Why are people so misinformed about penis size?

A question I've been meaning to ask for a long time now. I often (OFTEN) here mostly women, but men go on about 8", 9", 13" penises. Has anyone actually measured a penis?. If you measured the majority of the penises you see (or the penis you have) I assure you that 9/10 times will yield a result less than 7".

    "So what's average?

So many men have come to my office and ask if the size of their penis is normal. Needless to say, "hard" data is not readily available. 50 years ago, Alfred Kinsey and others recently have measured thousands of men's penises and the average length of the soft or flaccid penis is 31\2 inches and the average length of the erect penis is 6.5 inches. Also noted in the studies is a slight, albeit small, decrease in the size of the penis with aging. It is of interest that there is no difference in length of the soft or erect penis between circumcised and uncircumcised men."

I'm not really bothered, just perplexed as to how a myth has persisted so long, considering we have so much information at our fingertips. The world's largest penis is 13.5" long and "6.25" girth, so how anyone can tell me they've seen a 14" long, 7" wide penis is beyond me.

so tell me, why are the majority so ignorant?

    Oh boy! lol

On a general level, I think guys judge by what they see in porn. Most guys in porn are usually around 7-8", sometimes bigger. The idea is that a long penis will automatically feel more pleasurable to a woman.

For me personally I don't care about porn, because I've seen how fake they can get (using fake huge penis prosthetics, etc)

However, as being one of the guys that's slightly smaller than average (around 5" fully erect, 5.5" if I press on the fat pad) it feels like a woman will always be disappointed with me, particularly is she is sexually experienced (likelihood of having experienced at least a couple of larger penises, maybe 9"+)

Realistically I've been reading a lot of women's experiences on different boards. Some have only been with 1 guy, yet that guy is huge. Some have been with over 10+ men and they are shocked when the last guy is over 7" and starts to hurt them. Some have been with like 3 guys, and their current guy is too big for them. Some have really enjoyed a really big penis and now can't go back to smaller.

Man, it goes all over the place dude, so there's really no good answer to any of it. Personally I started using this device called the SizeGenetics. It gently stretches the penis so that you gain 1"-2" over the course of 1-2 years.

I'd love to be 7". At that size, I wouldn't be considered small. Even if a woman has had larger than that, let's say 9", unless she found something really enjoyable about that size, it's unlikely that going down to 7" would make any difference at all.

But going from 9" to 5" is definitely a high chance that the woman would be disappointed in the new size. That's my take on it. I don't obsess crazily about it, but it does bother me, which is why I'm doing something about it.

PS - I forgot to add, that unless the woman has a system to measure, just by vision alone she's unlikely to guess the size correctly. A guy will a 4" penis but shorter height, small pelvis and low body fat will appear to have a larger penis than a guy with a 6" penis but who's taller, 50lbs overweight and overall large.

I believe women who say they've had 10+ inches, most likely have really had 7-8" tops.

If they are coming to your Office. You should be able to INSPECT them and tell them that they may have an Erection that is Penile.
Others may have Penis's that are nothing of the Girth and or Length, But is one that Some feel is a " Perfect Match ".

The " Secret is Who you Love and the Size of Your Heart " and would your " Child Grow into It ". >
      Scary thoughts Here.

      But... Average is Average.
Comparing is only useful when you lack or feel you lack something or you are Questioning because you are an " Unknown " .

Is This for a Study Group ?

Self reported length studies such as Kinsey have been shown to overestimate length. Many scientific studies have been done. Why are 50 year old studies using non-scientific methods being used?

Whoa, thank you for that very in-depth reply. I don't think people understand just how rare >7" is (bar porn). The porn star lex steele is actually 9" (true 9"). Now look at him in videos or whatever and tell me you didn't think he was bigger?. People have assumed he's 13" and yet, he is actually 9" and is part of the 5th percentile of men [link removed] That's what was mistaken for 13", which is actually 9". Thanks for the reply.

"One of the most accurate and scientific pieces of research on this subject was carried out in Mexico on behalf of LifeStyles condoms. Under the supervision of a doctor, four trained health professionals measured the erect penises of 300 men (who were mostly young Americans).

They found that the average length was 5.877 inches (14.93 centimetres) – far less than the figure which had been generally quoted in the past.

A review published in the British Journal of Urology in 2007 broadly confirmed this finding."

so now tell me, why in the face of facts, do so many people decide to go "Oh well that can't be true, because I've seen so many 9" penis'" despite being so extremely rare? /Facepalm.

My ex boyfriend was around 7" and my husband is 9 1/2". All men are different and there is no "normal" size. Just like women's breasts...they are all different and can come in a wide variety of sizes. If a man says he has a 10" penis, maybe he does...or maybe he's lying.

There is a difference in the sex between the two sizes...my husband and I have to use a lot more lube just because it is a tight squeeze, but after a while I get used to it. It was a big change the first couple times we had sex, but now I don't think twice about it. Each time we have sex is different as well...it's about the moment and if you think a woman is solely thinking about the size of their penis each time they have sex, well...if she is, then she's not enjoying it very much!

9 1/2" is very large. This is exactly what I'm talking about in my post.

People can come and post about the "average size" until the cows come but everytime someone posts a personal experience it's how they (or their man) has a really large member. Then they post about how they don't care about it and size in general doesn't matter. lol

Actually, as a woman. I don't care what the size is. I know anything more than 7 inches a woman can't take anyways. A woman's vagina can fit between 5.5- 6.5 of a man's penis anyways.
Its not to much the size, but length of time to be honest.

lizardb63 seems to be taking in a 9 1/2" member quite fine. She must have a larger vagina than average then?
