    Holiday Sex

Is holiday sex a "sure thing" in your relationship? Those of us in the USA, are you thankful for your partner today and therefore want to share your intimacy? Does your partner or spouse feel the same way too? If you celebrate XMAS, is that a special day that you want to share intimacy with your partner? Do you want to be intimate on Valentine's Day, your birthday or your partner's birthday? For those that don't celebrate Thanksgiving and XMAS, substitute your local holidays when responding.

Ok, I know the questions maybe rhetorical for most, but apparently some people don't think the same way.

My wife asked me this morning "What are you thankful for today?" When I told my wife how thankful I was that we had the whole morning to be alone together today, her response was "Really? I hadn't thought about it.", then she walked out of the bedroom to get more coffee and said "I'm going to walk the dogs." She'll be gone for an hour, maybe more. Now if she was preparing a huge meal for our family and friends today, then I might understand her initial response, but we are going to have dinner at a friends house later today, and they have specifically told us that we are NOT to prepare anything because that is their gift to us this year. We have the whole morning to ourselves, which doesn't happen as often as we would like, and apparently it hasn't even crossed my wife's mind to be intimate with me today. Wow!

Some may say, "You have the whole day ahead of you and maybe she will change her mind tonight." No chance! She will definitely not initiate, and if I initiate later tonight her response will be that she is full and it is too late."

By the way, I am thankful for the people that regularly share on this forum!

Sadly no. Our sex life is starting to slowly decline again. We're sitting in a 500 year old hotel in the middle of Rome right now, a tremendously romantic spot, but it looks like she isn't interested. I fear we may be drifting back to the way things were a couple of years ago.

Coincidentally it was on our holiday earlier this year that things turned around a bit for us. Time away or off from work is a pretty sure thing these days.

Birthdays, yes, we do have birthday sex. We did this year on Halloween because its his favorite holiday out of the whole year. I didn't know how much he loves Halloween last year, so this year I went the extra mile for him.

But we won't today on Thanksgiving because he's in retail and that means he is working throughout the night and into tomorrow morning, just to come home and sleep a few hours, then go back to work. So his Thanksgiving will be rushed and full of work and greedy, angry people who are apparently done being thankful for the year.

If he didn't have to work, then yes, I would like to have "Thankful love making" today.

Since I rarely enjoy sex but am committed to performing my "wifely duties", holiday sex would be a holiday from sex.
