Well it's very unsafe and high risk for you and your partner if you use condoms maybe sure but using your tongue then going to your wife or girl friends vagina to easy for her to get a infection. Your husband or boy friend could get HPV later on in life from this unsafe practice.

I'd have to say both analingus and penetration are completely safe, as long as you're clean back there analingus is very pleasurable and relaxing,, before penetration I would recommend you give yourself an enema with warm soapy water first, just to be on the safe side.

I don't think anything should be spur of the moment,,, communication is key in any relationship, so when you know what your partner wants before hand you can prepare yourself properly for it..

I have to say that the not only unqualified statement

, but stating "COMPLETELY safe" is not accurate. I am most definitely not an expert, but to say it is COMPLETELY safe, seems like disinformation. As others have posted there are caveats. Now if you are talking only for "germs" I believe even most doctors recommend condoms - and everyone knows that condoms are not 100%.

WRT to penetration, others have posted about pain or tearing. I have heard that there can be long-term damage which can lead to "anal incontinence"/leakage.

I get that some here are fans, but the OP has noted already getting conflicting information. I think that just because some like the activity and have not had a major problem, does not make it "COMPLETELY SAFE". (I have family members who have smoked for decades with no ill effects on their health and others who never smoked got throat cancer. Anedotal information is just that.)
