I agree completely....yes it can be messy but it's worth it. Having orgasms during my period always helps with the cramps. I've been lucky that no man I have ever been with has been put off by my period and you're right - a shower then a tampon and you're good to go for oral sex.

Yeah, he's Sunni. I don't know what terminology he uses, but you're probably right. No, he was not raised as a Muslim. My father and stepmother weren't very religious while they were raising him. Now my father is a pastor of his own church and he's not the most tactful man. It makes for some tension. My brother and I get along quite well, though. We agree on a lot. Our views on Jesus are more alike in some ways than a lot of the right-wing Christians you mentioned.

Curiously, the Mosaic Law is not explicitly anti-lesbian either. It's not even really explicitly anti-fornication for two unmarried, unengaged people. It just discourages it with other laws. Christianity is a lot more explicit in forbidding any extramarital sex.

Your understanding of Jesus' sacrifice from a Christian perspective is correct. We don't keep Mosaic Law. Every single one of the principles and many of the laws carry over though. So my wife and I have actually had a discussion about whether or not this is allowable because the Mosaic Law mentions blood in relation to the prohibition on sex during menstruation and Christian Law commands abstaining from blood.

I can't speak for the Christian right and what they do. There's not a difference between Christian Law and Mosaic Law regarding homosexuality, though - at least with it being prohibited.

My lady is not into it. It's funny that you mention the religion a_dub, because this thread made me curious about Islam's views on this so I looked it up earlier. It's forbidden in the Torah too. Christian law doesn't have anything to say about this.

From my understanding, Christians believe that Jesus brought a whole new covenant centered around his blood sacrifice to atone for the sins of humanity. Thus Mosaic law, which is what the Torah is, was rendered null and void by Jesus. Which makes it all the more odd that the so called Christian Right in American would lobby so hard for the Ten Commandments (null and voided) to be in public buildings and continue to cite Genesis to bar gays from marrying. Jesus said, "come as you are" but apparently that only applies to straight people.

Islam actually adheres far more closely to Torah-type values because Muslims believe Jesus came not too nullify Moses' law but to confirm it. However, the Shariah is still quite lax as compared to the Talmud. For example, after sex, both Muslims and Jews view themselves as being ceremonially unclean. In Talmudic law the couple are unclean for the remainder of the day even after bathing, whereas under Shariah they are unclean only until they have bathed.

Once I was able to convince my SO early in our relationship not to worry about the blood, her period has never stopped us (unless she was feeling extra crampy or her back really hurts). It just takes some preparation (towels etc) so the sheets don't get stained. No condom needed. I shower after and the blood just washes away.

Well some women are some what embarrassed about there red head boy friend as they think there husband or boy friend will be gross out about it. A lot of women don't like having sex during their periods. Some women expereince a lot of pain and cramping. . . .
Having sex with a woman during her period is actually against my religion.

If the woman doesn't like it, then it's not an issue. But I think we're talking about when the woman likes it and the guy doesn't want to mess with the mess.

Don't know much about other women, but the cramps usually only lasted the first day for me.

As for the religion aspect, I've got nothing to offer on that one. ;-)
