Using a broad interpretation of sex as including all forms of intimacy, I know that I could not. As I am in a committed relationship, intimacy is an integral part of expressing love and devotion.
But it comes down to is this healthy for your mind and soul. They say a couples who have a good healthy sex life they live longer and happier. Then couple who don't have a healthy sex life.

Sorry to be a pessimist, but I doubt that there’s any way I could be happy without sex.

I think the people with no sex drive are a lot more common than you think. Most antidepressents and anti anxiety meds will kill sex drive. It's a major issue on the social anxiety board. There are probably 100 people on there with no sex drive and another 100 who wouldn't mind finding a med that kills their sex drive so they don't have to feel bad about not having sex. The biggest depression chat on the net has probably several 100 with no sex drive. Depression and anxiety by themselves without treatment can cause lessen sex drive. Then there are all sorts of hormonal disorders and for women birth control pills. BCP has always dropped my sex drive a little but since I had such a high sex drive it didn't matter. Now I'm on max dose of seroquel, trazodone, amitriptyline, gabapentin, and temazepam with a low dose of lamictal slowly being titrated up. Plus I'm still not sleeping on all that. My husband lost his sex drive before me. He was trying to have sex daily but couldn't do it and the doctor was not helpful since his testosterone at the time was still within normal. Not sure it is anymore but it was hard enough getting him to go to a doctor the first time.

I could bother him for sex daily if I just triggered my sex drive with more porn and romance novels but if he's happy with a couple times a month now then I don't care. It's not like we have no physical contact. We fall asleep most nights tangled up together and the entire time we're watching tv or using our computers across the bed from each other there is touching, playful poking, etc.... We just don't have actual sex that much anymore. Even before that there were times I didn't want sex but asked him to touch me all over. All I really wanted half the time I asked for sex when we were doing it nearly daily was attention and human contact.

It's much the same with my partner. She is on depression meds but she has a sex drive. I just need to trigger it by relaxing her and kissing her. Her body is responsive so the drive is there. However, if I wasn't as sexual, she could go for a week or so without missing it.

In the short term - OK, in the long term - No.

Are these answers - with a partner or solo?
For the couples there are a lot of posts about the frustration of a mismatched drive and having no or very little sex with your partner/spouse.

But during periods when you were not in a relationship, I wonder if it is the same level of frustration.
