He does have some complex percussion in his music at times, but it's generally not dancey ....it's actually fairly morose in general really. (He's had a couple bad past relationships that have informed his sensibilities really strongly.) He's actually self-published an album (it's easy to do that now, you can even put your stuff on iTunes for a cut), but it was instrumental. More recently he hired a semi-pro female vocalist from Denver to do lyrics/vocals on a couple songs. He wants me to sing and write lyrics on this song for me that he's working on. It's for me in the sense of being on my behalf ....I had a friend die a while ago and I'm still having trouble 'getting right' with that, and he thinks it would be a good therapeutic release for me. (I can sing reasonably well, objectively I think and so I'm told, so it wouldn't be an "oh no" moment, don't worry.) I may do it, but it's really hard. The song is very sad and makes me cry lol, and trying to think of words I'd want to say just makes it worse. I think he's right tho that it would help me.

Not sure about pointing people to his stuff - it's not under a fake identity or anything so it would be like saying "yep, this guy by this name is Jen's BF." We'll see, maybe someday somehow. Thanks for being interested, I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

Really cool! I think I know exactly what type of sub-genre you are trying to describe. There is a song by Andrew Rayel called "Goodbye" that came out a month ago that might be pretty close to that sub-genre. And when I asked about hearing his music, I did not realize it could intrude on your guys' privacy... so it's all good.
