Male Sexuality - Poll and Discussion

I recently saw a great episode of Louie where he goes to Miami for work. He goes for a swim and a handsome, young lifeguard mistakenly thinks he’s drowning and “saves” him. They end up hanging out, having a good time, and really hitting it off. It becomes awkward when Louie decides to extend his vacation to hang out some more and a homophobic tension comes between them. Louie then talks about homophobia and how it limits men from saying and doing things that could be cool. I loved it and related as I have not done things I wanted to do because they would look "gay."

On another thread we got into a discussion about female sexual fluidity. Something expressed his unease with what he perceives as some aspect of all women that can make them flip and become lesbians. This was encouraged by jen telling him that she guarantees she could steal his woman, but that she would graciously spare him.

While female sexuality is definitely different from male sexuality, I don’t think it’s naturally any more fluid. I think the differences we see are cultural. I wanted to do a little poll and maybe have the fellas express themselves and their experiences. Maybe it could clear some things up for us and we could get a little more comfortable with who we are as men, as people, and maybe the women in our lives.

I put down "straight, have had fantasies", but as with most polls, the answers are never quite exact. I've intentionally tried homosexual fantasies, and watched a gay porn clip or two. Neither did anything for me.

Great summary. I am sure Jen will love how you mention that she would graciously spare me. Sounds like a great plot line to a movie?

Anyway, I have had homosexual contact and would not entertain it again. But I will check out guys though (whether I am alone or with the GF).

I selected option 3 (experience with no thoughts). Even though I will check out guys, it is not because I want to be with them in any homosexual way.

I had homosexual contact when I was very young. I also fantasize about dealing with someone that doesn't have PMS, periods, can't get pregnant, and would be into the same exact things as me. My curiosity is more so what it is that homosexual men are seeing, because, like you two I find men unattractive sexually.

Do homophobic feelings ever hold you back from doing things? I remember my best friend had a scooter when we were teenagers. He asked me to get on and go for a ride. I was a little concerned about the safety, but mostly it felt "gay" so I wouldn't. I thought about it because 20+ years later (the other day), he's telling me that he doesn't like the lady his dad is marrying. He says she looks like her brother with a skirt. I say that I don't think her brother is a bad-looking guy. His response: "You sound real gay right now."

I'm just wondering why, almost pushing 40, we can't have a conversation that briefly drifts to how another man looks without his homosexual sensors going up.

Lol, I have no issues about talking about what makes a guy attractive. I think that if I was a female that I would have the best taste in men. If my GF discuss a guy's attractiveness, I can usually get her to agree with me if we do not agree on whether a guy is attractive or not.

I'm in the first bucket -- heterosexual with no fantasies or experience. I'm not homophobic, just not interested in guys sexually.

With me only sexually with women, I do not care for guys in that way. I do have many guys friends but don't think of them in a sexually way at all period I am completely heterosexual male who love's the look and feel of women only.
