I am curious about the submissive aspect. Why is anal more submissive than missionary position sex? Cultural taboo?
During analingus, my SO thinks that she is in complete control of what I do."The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you." Despair.com "Dysfunction"Comment

I've never thought about it, but I don't think that it is necessarily "natural", but I don't think it's unnatural either. Vaginas are primarily sexual in nature, anuses are not. Just so happens they have some oh-so titillating nerve endings in there as well, and I don't think it's unnatural to seek out those pleasurable centers in our bodies.Comment

It was both really.
I'll point out that not all anal (penetrative) sex is a submissive act for the receiver ....much like analingus, a woman can 'control' the situation with anal sex - her power to make her man do whatever she wants to get it, his inability to think clearly regarding it, even the actual pace and tempo can and often are dictated by the woman. Just a few examples.
As regards the 'natural' question btw, obviously it's not natural in a procreative sense. I'm moreso interested in people's instincts/impulses etc. - are you driven to go to the bum for reasons you don't understand, haven't intellectualized, and so on.Comment

That's one of the great things about it - there's something for everyone. If you're purely into sensation and pleasure and performance it's great, because it feels great and adding it to your sexual playbook can be a huge pleasure bonus. But there's also submission play, because of the 'dirty/nasty' impression that persists - great for both parties too. Kissing butt (a typically submissive or negative thing to do symbolically) is not far off from eating butt, so the connection is pretty obvious. (In fact, you can do both at pretty much the same time, and should. Kissing doesn't always have to involve eating as it can be done in places that aren't entirely 'secure,' but eating should always involve kissing imo.) Then there's using it in a way similar to sensual massage. I have this done a lot - doesn't even require orgasms (tho it can and often will) ....just a relaxing treatment similar to a back rub or foot massage. Love that. And then of course there's some of each and all the spaces in between.
It's great.
