Or, put another way, men can be used for sex because the stereotypic man should be emotionless and used to being promiscuous.

If a man were to post that some random girl he slept with was excessively clingy or became dramatic and needy after he used her for "heat of the moment" sex, he would be slammed for his behavior. My only advice is that the next time you wish to use a person for sex only, agree on the ground rules before hand. Contrary to the mainstream, men are human and actually have feelings.
I hope I didn't come off as sexist, as that wasn't my intention. I don't mean the word clingy or dramatic in a bad way. It's just that I've seen men fall madly in love with women that they have casual sex with, so I'm not surprised at how this man is acting. People say men don't get attached, but they can.

Ladies & gents , sorry for causing online drama I didn't mean to do on purpose. I just never encounter ed this before. I've never had a man get mad at me for not giving him a title. I always heard women demanding that not a man.

No drama. Just giving you a different perspective. Men do not act "like women" when they show feelings nor is it drama. As we can see from this post, some women can have casual sex without emotional involvement just as men can. You asked "can sex make a man clingy" -- my response is that it can just as sex can make a woman clingy. Don't be shocked that men have and can express feelings.

Hooking up with a random stranger isn't wrong.

But yes sex can make men clingy, it's happened to me when I only wanted sex, he wanted more.
          I wasn't having it.

Guys can become clingy when the sex rocks their world. His demanding to meet family so soon was out of line. Becoming distant shows he is not going to go the distance or he is being passive / aggressive. Neither one is good.

If they don't get clingy, does it mean the sex was bad? Can sex still rock their world, but they just don't want to continue further?

Magnetism, not every guy will exhibit this behavior, just a few of them. It's the reason I used "can" instead of "will" or "most likely will". It may be related with how they respond to the oxytocin released during the close physical contact. Other guys may not have as much of a reaction to the oxytocin released by themselves and their partner. Women may be generally more susceptible to the effects of oxytocin. Another thing to look at is dopamine. The high of the dopamine can exhibit addictive properties including a strong desire to reach that high again. Vasopressin could also play a part in whether a given male becomes clingy from a given sexual encounter.

mzhk, my comment about not going the distance is about a person having a "sour grapes" attitude, that if he cannot get what he wanted then what he wanted is not good. Sour grapes is from the Aesop fable. A person who really wants a relationship is willing to fight for it and willing to take a certain amount of negativity for it. That may mean that they will put up with things not moving forward as fast as they would wish.

Passive / aggressive is where he pursued initially very hard, then he quit pursuing altogether. The next step would likely be an aggressive one. Passive / aggressive often breaks down the resistance of the one it is directed at and is thus used by some to get their way. In a relationship, it is extremely sweet times interspersed with terrorizing the other. The object of the passive / aggressive behavior strives to get back to the sweet times and thus changes their behavior to accommodate their partner. This will leave them feeling hopeless and without a voice over time.
