This might not be the right place for this

Have questions about using aloe as lube?

    We have more answers!

Read our full article, “Can You Use Aloe Vera Gel As Lube?” here:

My boyfriend and I were masturbating, and he used a body wash or gel as lube but didn't wash it off. The next day he hurt really bad down there. We masturbated again and he used the same stuff but this time it started burning him really bad and ever since he's been really sore there and his skin has changed. It's become quite wrinkly and red, is this an allergic reaction? If so, what can we do to make it better
We're both virgins so it's not an STD or STI. We also were trying different stuff (using objects) to masturbate, but nothing that would've caused his skin all over down there to turn really red, hurt, and get very wrinkly. That's why we assume it's the gel that done it.
    Thanks

Oh my god. Ever get soap in your eye? Stings, right? Well why in god's NAME would he use that there? I'm not remotely surprised that hurt him. Do not use that as lube again. Why don't you just buy some? Lotion works, too. But never gel or shampoo or body wash or anything like that.

Here's what happens: When men use soap to masturbate, after a little while the skin gets irritated because soap is meant to be used and washed off. When you keep rubbing it into the skin of the penis, it causes tiny little breaks in the skin - like papercuts. The more he does it, the more breaks. Than, when he goes to do it again it will feel like sandpaper on his penis.

My advice (from experience) - tell your bf to apply lotion with aloe vera in it for about a week (no masturbating during that time) to let the skin heal. During that week go online (or to a store) and buy real lube. You can get KY at the supermarket or pharmacy - or go online for more privacy.

If you are doing it in the shower or bath tell him to use hair conditioner - not lube.

        forget the soap

If you are both really into masturbating I would advise getting a lube called Eros. Its the best on the market. it never gets sticky and is silky smooth. It is expensive though but well worth it. As it only takes a lil bit. and last for ever. But it never hurts to put a lil more on. nothing like a refresher on lube.

Hey there! I am not surprised it hurt! Soap/body wash shouldnt be used as lube! or even 'down there' maybe try a soap free wash or aqueous cream to wash with 'down there' and use a proper lube - get irritant free ones etc..hpe i helpeda bit xx
