As has been said, you can't generalise. I do think men and women view sex (in a relationship) differently. I don't necessarily agree that women give sex to get love, but rather to get affection and intimacy - and that men who are getting sex are more likely to be affectionate and want intimacy. I don't believe all women are only interested in sex if there is love or some sort of affectionate/intimate relationship. Many of us have a totally different outlook on sex within a r/ship and sex without it and know (and appreciate) the difference between love and lust.
I do think women cope better when sex is in short supply. As cliche as it may be, and as unpalatable for some, I honestly believe men are very much more dependent on it.
I agree I can cope with sex better when it is indeed in short supply. Also I certainly do not give sex just to start a relationship for love or any intimate relationship reason. I enjoy extra marital sex for the fun of it. I like the sex act and will do it with any person that I desire to have it with .Always providing that I know the persons history.
And rg 007 I can enjoy it without love coming into it atallComment

I also can get great pleasure from the sex act alone without any love coming into it with extra partners. Although I get great pleasure from my husband in the way of love it is a situation that I do not associate with lovers, that is for sex and lust only.Comment

Well I don't think men want to or ever will figure out how women tick. That's comes in the mind Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. I think it's all very true. When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.Comment

well the news is 2 weekends ago I found the garden pruners while tidying up the garage!! Wife was very happy!!Now my wife can't find her good garden secatuers (pruners) and I've had a good look for them too... and she said if I can find then she will wear one of her sexy scarves while giving me a blow job.... I'm desperate to find them as it's been months since I'cve had a blow job!!
then she asked if I had any flavoured condoms (for a blow job) and I said no, so she suddenly lost interest in giving me a special treat as promised...
So she ended up giving me a hand job, but after about 4 mins her hand got sore and I ended up having to finish myself off..... I was not happy... we've not had any form of sex since then

Muffin70, I feel the excitement for you when you said you found the garden pruners as you would get what you were promised in return but not quite.
Sometimes I look at my own problem here too, thinking I agree i give sex (woman) once I feel loved. I think my major problem is that , I don't find HB attractive anymore, thinking back, I was sincerely attracted to him for a while at the beginning of our marriage but every time I showed love to him, he was such a thick head of not receiving the signals. These "love" slowly faded away,I've then put my time and effort into home and works and kids.
And years later & now, I've been reluctant of having intimacy or even initiating it.
I wonder how many couples out there having the same issues as mine....Last edited by Findingluckystar; 06-12-2015, 07:38 AM.Comment

Haven't posted in ages, bored so I'm back!!!
Actually no I don't believe this. The answer is much simpler: men have a higher sex drive that women. In general, men are around 4 times hornier than women.
This clouds judgement in guys. We need love too, but when our bodies want an orgasm, the desire is so strong it overrides everything else.
Most women aren't held at gunpoint by their own bodies to that extent.Pigeonholer extraordinaire!Comment

If you research the hormones oxytocin and vasopressin you might get a better biological explanation of the men/women thing. Both are bonding hormones, the first being a woman's bonding hormone ( released when she gives birth to her child, nurses a child or has sex with someone). It's designed to keep her bonded with the man ideally for life. When the man she is having sex with is removed from her life she is affected emotionally and women tend to get more clingy/depressed. It also keeps her specially bonded to her children for life.
For men, their bonding hormone is vasopressin, which bonds them to the woman they have sex with. It leaves them subconsciously feeling protective and responsible. If that sexual relationship isn't going well the man typically doesn't get depressed. His typical response is to leave, or bail on the situation.
I'm in the health field lol so I've studied this stuff before.Comment
