You bring up some excellent points Lexhill. I agree completely that historically men were taught to celebrate their sexuality and their libido, while women were taught to suppress theirs. I think this is better than it used to be, but still very much engrained in our society. I think the shift toward the celebration of women's sexuality is reflected in the change in women's apparent sex drives. Of course, there are LOTS of other factors that play into it (hormones, medical issues, mental issues, etc), but I do think what you've said plays a huge role. -
From reading on various sites, it seems that about as many women feel that they are not getting the sex that they want in marriage as there are men who feel that way. That is more a measure of the low end - how many men vs women want very little sex, but it may be correlated with overall drive.Comment

I think you are right. Its just interesting that the discussions on forums are so evenly matched. I think there are more parameters though - there is both drive (for example how often you want sex) and flexibility ( how often you are happy with having sex).
I could imagine one person who wants sex once a week who feels neglected if they miss a week and pressured at 2X/week. Another might prefer once a week but be content with 1/month, or every day.
If women on average were less flexible they might complain about a lack of sex more often than men, even if on average they had lower drives.
In the end I'm not sure teh statistics matter - its the match or mismatch in each particular reationship that is the issue.
(btw, I'm back because another forum I was on required to know my real ID to post and that was too much of a security risk - they had recently been hacked). Hope this site can get a little more active - it seems pretty empty compared to when I was last here.
