Cuts/Tears on Labia Minora after sex! Anyone else had this happen??

Hi! Absolute newbie here looking for anyone who has had a similar experience. Last night had a great time with my man only to realise once we turned the lights back on that I was bleeding and had small paper cut like tears on my labia minora! It was not a lot of bleeding and now less than 24 hours later it has pretty much stopped and the only pain was during urination, which after 3 bathroom trips now seems to have stopped as well...just wondering if anyone else has experienced this too, how long it took to heal and if you went to the doctor.

Of course I ended up consulting Dr Google and have since learned that this is not an uncommon experience and that apparently it should heal on its own and I might only need to see a doctor if I experience irritation. But on the other hand have also managed to sufficiently freak myself out that I could re-tear my labia when I start having sex again after it has healed. Have been sexually active for nearly 8 years with the same partner and this is the first time this has happened! That being said, it's not the first time I have had labia sensitivity. UTIs and Yeast Infections are the bane of my existence and I experience them both on a regular basis, just the first time I have had very clear cuts and bleeding.

Very confused and little concerned at the moment. Would love some advice from anyone who has had a similar experience. Hope I posted this in the right place! Thanks in advance!

We have similar problems. My wife often seems to be sensitive or damaged down there already after her period. We have to be gentle for a couple of days.

And for some reason foreplay with my fingers seems to mess her up a lot - even if I'm careful and my nails are as short as possible. That's not just after her period, but anytime. So most of the time I do little to nothing down there with my fingers.

      Was it unusually rough sex?

I guess my first thought is, to get the other issues in better control. Your tissues are more sensitive likely, due to the microbial business going on in your nether regions
Have you explored dietary changes to help with the fungal and/or bacterial overgrowth? Have you ever checked you pH?

You're likely in a cycle of imbalance. You have abx for the UTI, flaring the yeast, then back and forth. By now, your body is likely so unbalanced that there's no discernable difference, it's just so messed up.

If I were you, (and I was once) I would start looking into changing some dietary choices. Sugary foods can exacerbate yeasts-they live on that stuff. Probably 20 yrs ago, I had yeast infections often, and a UTI probably twice a year or more. I started cutting back my sugars and it was a noticeable change. I was getting UTI so much that they recommended surgery for a presumed "saggy bladder". I changed my diet and within a year, I was free of the recurring issues.
Sugars and simple carbs, processed carbs.

In hindsight, and now all these years later, I've found that my body is just a very fragile system. I have underlying health issues, so diet is key for me in all areas. May not be so for you, but worth a try. The biology is still the same, generally.

Probiotics. Add gut health into your diet. You can buy the probiotics in pill form, but I use a more natural source. I use an unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar, which can be diluted and drank or used in salad dressing, etc. It contains probiotics and also helps with keeping the body slightly alkaline. That's great for the bladder. And if you get things back in balance, the yeast should be in check also, and that acidity in your vagina should be normal and healthy eventually.

It's not an easy fix. It's not fast, and it is work and dedication on your part. But it's healthier, and you will likely feel better overall too.
