    Heh, I can't comment as I indeed married a perfect 10!

What can I say, I am blessed!

I have always found a wide range of women to be attractive - I've never had a specific apperance I liked. I thought my spouse was very attractive when we met, and since she hasn't changed at all in 25 years, I still think she is very attractive.

There will sometimes be an attractive woman who catches my eye - but it is just a momentary sort of esthetic appreciation - just enough to generate a smile - no thought of anythign else. My wife does the same - and will occasionally comment on a particularly cute waiter.

Almost nobody is the perfect 10 to everyone...since tastes vary. But I am sure you think she is the perfect 10! Good for you!

Hi Rcoreyus, we have had this exchange before on this topic. Yes, my husband says the same thing...aesthetic appreciation. A moment of attention glancing at a beautiful woman and then on to the next thing.
However, I think my husband does have an *ideal* and so did an Ex of mine....they both like/liked the big chested blondes. That said, I think it is just a fantasy thing. He loves me, and he loves making love to me. I just wonder about regrets and the like...but you men here have answered my question. I think my husband would agree.

I grew up and like you said, I do have my preferences for what I find attractive. I am a bit of an oddity amongst men in that I strongly prefer small breasted women to big breasted, but that's neither here nor there in this discussion. Just felt for whatever reason I needed to make that point. Ha!

Thinking back on the women I've dated over the years, I always dated a woman I felt was attractive. Interestingly enough, my perceptions of what was attractive have changed dramatically depending on who I was with. For example: My theoretical dream girl is small, but I have dated a girl who was quite tall and very large weight wise. Just because this woman didn't fit into my "dream girl" theoretical image didn't mean that I didn't find her irresistable and beautiful and someone I really wanted to be with. I did.

A woman's personality has a lot to do with my perception of her. If she has a great personality, super sense of humor, etc. Then I am very likely to be able to enjoy her and want to be around her regardless of her other physical attributes. I think this is the sticky point for a lot of women. They think that because they're not perfect, if they have a flabby back-side or some other thing they see as a defect, then it shuts them down with their s/o, because that's not a trait that he would see as "ideal".

Well honey(s)...he's not perfect either. I know YOU know that, but sometimes I think because of men's presumed unshakeability, they are perceived as stronger or more invincible than they are. They know they're not perfect. They know that they're probably not the strappin' thumpin' dream guy to you either. The difference between men and women seems to me to be in their acceptance of themselves. I think that women have a harder time accepting themselves than men do.

In any event, don't be confused...your man accepts you for who you are and loves you and is turned on by you (even if you don't perceive your physicality to be perfect).

            Cheers.

Oh...and I sort of missed part of your question which is: If I got married to someone who was vastly different to my "dream girl perspective" would I feel robbed, cheated, or satisfied. (Ok, I took the liberty of re-writing the question...I'm a man...what can I say).
The answer is if a man loves a woman, all the other stuff is out the door. Just not a consideration. Unimportant...not even on the radar.

            Cheers.
            Enjoyed the comment!

well, it's like women always say, they are looking for prince charming but since there are quite few of those they would never stop leaving just because they do not get asked out by their idea of a prince charming, they settle for real man. Usually this refers to a guy/ man who is sensitive, nurturing, makes them feel good about themselves while he maintain the animal instincts of a man.

As man you meet different kinds of women, some you date & remain friends even long after it ended, others you just have the physical relations in which when they end you no longer see each other. But then one realizes that some of the ideals that he thought were very important in his perfect woman are not as important as some the real qualities he encounters with the relationships he has forged.

But I think it boils down to what one considers of importance to him. When one gets married or considers getting married, the blond, cheerleader 34D bosom type of looks do not play such an important role as they did when growing up and trying to show off a girlfriend as a form of achievement to his peers. But then I guess it also depends on the type of guy, there are guys who are picked by girls & others who struggle to even get noticed by the girls they truly want. But if as a guy one is lucky enough to be able to pick & decide on getting married, chances are one would choose the a woman with qualities he has come to embrace with experience with women not the fantasy of a cheerleader type of woman. But chances are some of these fantasy women features would be incorporated in the one the he ends up marrying.

It's interesting being a "single" woman again SorridLives....

Take the dating sites, boring, "I'm lonley" them not me, but take that aside, what makes me laugh the most is this. If i hide my photo, no replies, if i put it back up, bang, hits, if i read their profiles:-

"What colour hair do you have - brown" "What colour hair should she have "blonde" and we are talking about 43 - 49 year olds lol.

I asked my ex-husband just before finally saying seeya, "what do you like most about me?", mmm, i love the way you do this, that, nup... Your beautiful and intelligent.. ???? (gong), sorry, ...

Now take that aside... that is the superficial wish lists of people..

Guy friends and i have quite a few, will tell me straight up, sure, your attractive BUT, what the most attractive part of you is, your soul, your heart and i love to make you laugh. I'm truly learning the word gorgeous is coming from listening to me, and not looking at me, as they aint looking at me, i'm not in front of most of them..

I have had this said to me by two different people the last two months and no, not because their trying to get into my pants, lol... Honest friends.

A guy whom i chatted with for ages and finally met, he only knew the person, not the body, hair, size, nothing and he was smitten with the person, then liked what he saw, but again, what ever his initial dream looks were size of breasts hair colour, he was more intreiged with the personality and person inside.

The English Man you all know about, well most of you, the only little bugger since separation of too long haha, he was married to a blonde but preferred "me" brunette, not women, but "me", and rightly so, the darkness of my hair against my eyes, brings them out, but again, he only got to know me, not my body, looks until later........

I think regardless of the "dream", once they get to know "you", if you are their type inside, the soul is much more attractive than the visual, and usually the visual regardless becomes more attractive because of the soul...

You are really cute (personality) and funny, CW! Even I (a woman) think so!
I hear what you are saying...and I agree! There has to be a personality match. I guess they can live with the differences in their old dream girl image and the real dream girl!
