Why do you class asking a civil question as whining?
    Hi Gyrator,

    Totally agree.
I am a female and peg my partner quite regularly. Why? becauce he loves it; it's that simple. And because he loves it so much I enjoy doing it to him. I love giving him pleasure. I always feel that a woman is more limited to pleasure a guy then the other way around.
So hey, this works out great.
And with him? no worry, none, he is far from gay, he just loves the ladies AND begin pegged!

Because complaining about the way an internet site is run is whining. Essentially, there are always going to be differences in opinion upon how people think things should be run. To go against the grain is simply a waste of time. Just make a new thread.

Personally, I would have just locked the thread, and still left it there for people to read. But the whole thing was just going in circles, repetition after repetition. It was boring. I'd rather not have it constantly floating around the top of the board, with no actual discussion just another post saying "hi I just signed up to say that we peg, and we like it!".

well some of us just have a need to hear others confirm : Hi, am new and I peg.
makes us feel more within the norms.

the fact it is boring for some other readers does not mean the thread should be closed, does it?

Well, that's why I wouldn't have deleted the thread, I'd have locked it.

And of course any thread which I find boring should be deleted, what a silly question....

Anyway, like I said, if you want a new thread then make one.

I do think its boring (to me anyway) to read about the running of a forum rather then the reason it was created. I am starting to see the point made by the moderators that a Women's Heath forum not become an explicit XXX sex site.

I think pegging (or just Strapon Sex in general) is unusual enough that people who might not be interested in Women's Health are drawn here from Google (As I was)

Yes, its nice to know your not alone in your sexual activities. And maybe the posts "We do this also!" are dull to the typical reader.

Is it mainstream and soon to be done by everyone else? Hardly... I have some internet pen pals that think Oral sex is right up their with throwing virgins into live volcanos.

In this case it seems that the actions of the moderators is contrary to their stated aims. Although the guidelines are far from clear (I have called for some clarification) it would seem that they are urging posters to provide relevant, insightful and cogent posts. I can think of no more effective way of discouraging this than by the wholesale deleting of posts. This suggests that all posts are treated as having only transient value - hardly worth the trouble of proper consideration and drafting.

What is so terrible about a thread you know you are not interested in receiving occasional posts? You are not obliged to read them and the worst it can do is drop the threads you are interested in one line further down the page once in a while. If indeed these posts are considered by the moderators to add nothing to the thread then perhaps they should be removed. However, this should be done on a post-by-post basis.

I think Phoebee and I have demonstrated here the legitimacy of the pegging topic within a Health related forum - and that is before we have even touched on the question of enlarged prostate problems. If, because of the way pornographers choose to portray this activity, it attracts some undesirable posts then again these should be dealt with on a post-by-post, poster-by-poster basis. I have not personally seen significant numbers of posts that I would find offensive. I also think there is a value to the one-off posts from people who just want to say they have/haven't tried/enjoyed a given activity - it provides at least a little statistical information if nothing else.

My feeling is that the moderators have allowed themselves to become somewhat influenced as regards pegging by the pornographer's outpourings and see this topic as a pornographic one and hence unsuitable for this forum. I think this is misguided. There are people who are trying to counter the effect of the pornography - there is a 'tribe' on the net dedicated to showing that pegging is not essentially linked to extreme BDSM etc. Responsible postings on this forum would aid that effort.

                .

Perhaps then, start a new thread pertaining to the above, this particular thread is pointless.

Not sure if its just a setting on my computer or what but anyone else notice the pegging thread is unlocked now and the other one has been completely removed?

Sure that thread may be repetitive and some of the posts aren't exactly informative but that particular thread is what google brought up when I did a pegging search. It's the one that brought me here and I am not the only one. Also, it's not like the thread ever went necro. There is always a few comments a month on it. On that note, why would a thread that brings people to the site and doesn't die be closed? Even if it's left open for that reason alone, traffic to the site, with the option to post. It's an interesting debate and there is actually quite a bit of information in it. It's not like it's one person posting over and over about their therapy sessions and bringing up new issues when the thread starts to die. IMO, this isn't a sex issue anyway, its a mental health issue.

As far as necro threads... Maybe they should be deleted after a period of time, six months or so with no activity then your outta here. The same subjects keep coming up over and over. Kind of a given but at least if the necro threads were deleted it wouldn't seem repetitive.

The thread's repetitive necroing, spam, inappropriate content, and the fact that it was 3rd on a google search for "pegging," (drawing, as Anon said, members whose ONLY aim were to talk about pegging, some who inserted it into EVERY other unrelated thread they posted in) caused me to make the decision to delete it.
The other thread should not be unlocked ... I'll take a look at that.
The site itself, such as the heading to the "Sex" forum, cannot be changed. I do not have the power to change it; such were the administrative settings I was given. Though the "Professional Posting" rules may be cumbersome, they were enacted because some people were posting very inappropriate content.
Frankly, Gyrator, the conversations about ED you have had have been the FIRST good content out of the whole pegging topic.
I'm sorry if you don't agree with my actions, but those are the actions I've taken. They won't be undone.

Frankly I know I've been put in the Pro Pegging hole but I'm pretty Square because I agree that this got too graphic and the negative comments (your gay etc) all made it unwelcome reading. And I don't think its nice for us to be a peanut gallery sniping at the system moderators. Suggestions sure. Requests? Why not. But they have to decide things and frankly I've left more forums then I could count because they were left to turn into Spam and XXX porn sites.

If we can get back the the ED/Impotence discussion I think its worth while to note that for those who equate "sex" with intercourse but don't have a male with a working erection strap-on sex is a welcome relief for both (of us anyway) When DH lost his ability the first thing he did was just "quit" doing anything sexual. This was a nightmare for my self worth. I was sure it was "ME" not a medical problem. When he got it in his head that I had sexual needs and he figured that he had some "obligations" the solution of SO sex was pretty fantastic. He felt less "worthless" and so did I. Once we had this alternative plan (and oral sex etc) working for us it was easier for him to go seek real medical help. And NOT the junk on the internet btw...
