I don't think it would really be a 'training' thing, no.

rcoreyus' comments notwithstanding, all I can tell you is that I've had extensive sex with a lot of women with a lot of vibrators, and desensitization has never been an issue. Again I'll refer to those Hitachi wand things - I could see becoming desensitized if you used one of those every day for six months, but you'll be using a much more easy going vibe to a limited degree. Trust a girl who's worn the shoes - just don't worry about it. I've got like hundred vibes and I use them almost every day and I'm as sensitive as the day I ....reached puberty. And I have no trouble at all orgasming from oral, digital, anything.

btw, you sound like you may be a bit unclear on the types yet. The Mia is definitely not an insertion vibe, it's used pretty much exclusively on the clit, from outside the V. So if that's all you want a vibe for, it's fine to get that one. The Iris is meant to go into the V and work however she likes in there - penis simulation, g-spot manipulation, etc. It can also sub as a clit vibe, but it is fairly large. (Not huge, but not small.) That's why I recommend both - you cover all the bases. Plus, again, you look cool for going the extra mile. Just do as I say, trust me.

My wife liked every stronger sensations, and eventually worked up to a Hitachi. I used to regularly get her to orgasm with oral, or intercourse and fingers, but now she can't without the vibrator. Is OK, we just use it as part of our play, but the desensitization issue can be real.

Early on in our use of toys she also like rather large dildos, eventually using a Outlaw. Then that interest seemed to fade, she found they left her sore, and she now prefers more modest things. Interestingly her favorite insertable is actually a toy for gay males - an oxballs "screw" - I got it when I realized she likes toys with lots of texture. Quickest is a "bullseye".

She does sometimes orgasm with weaker vibrators than the hitachi, but mostly that is what she uses. I think she also masturbates with it, but for some reason doesn't admit to doing so.

Its all good fun, but it does help to involve your partner in purchases. Sadly my wife won't comment on what she wants so I've wound up with some $200 mistakes.

Vibrators are amazing, but they will NEVER replace you!!! Use it with her. I love using mine with my husband. But the batteries will never/ could never replace the touch that my husband has to offer!! I say go for it!!!!

That very true the touch is hard to replace. Me and wife use many of her vibrators in with are love making that can be so wild and erotic at the same time.
When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.

Ok, I really appreciate all your guys' responses and input because, while this may seem trivial to you all, this is a big move for us (still quite nervous). We have no experience with vibrators and it's scary because our sex life is very good. It's not broken in anyway and I feel like we have a lot to lose by introducing this machine. We are both excited for it now and at the point of no return, but I can't help but hear echoes of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" in my head. The fun part is we can pretend I'm an alien and she's an abductee and I am probing her with these "tools" rofl. **insert that darn develish emoticon here**

Jen: I read reviews on the Iris and I don't think it went to in-depth on clitoral stimulation. So your saying it isn't so good for the clit because it has a large surface as opposed to being more focused?

              Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the recommendation Patti, I checked it out and I know she won't want to go with that one.

I didn't think I would either, it looked like a monster to me, but a friend of mine kept recommending it to me, so I got one, best alone time move I ever made

It's more just a question of practicality. You or her could easily hold a Mia to her clit much like you'd hold a pen (or a lipstck lol), but to do that with a bigger vibe you may have to hold it like a club or something. There's nothing wrong with the Iris for that it per se, but the Mia is definitely designed for the clit. Also if she were to carry it around with her (I know you said she won't, but what if she can't control the wetness like you describe and needs relief during the day - yummy possibilities ), she can very discreetly slip it into her purse and no one will know, even if it falls out. If she's caught with an Iris, they'll know. It's just a great carry vibe. Mine goes with me everywhere.
