I agree, and this is something i've always hated about the dating scene, why all the BS and games?

Anyway I know there could be several times where it feels like the honeymoon stage is over, but I would say that is something like this has happened so early, you may have found out who your really with. Both men and women are prone to being one person upfront, and another when they grow comfortable. I had a friend who was so smitten with her husband the first two years they were together, but once he became comfortable that she was "secured" his demeanor changed quickly. Consideration traded for insistance, romance traded for sex, emotional time traded for short conversations. Now she didn't date him for very long before they married, he pulled the "propose before getting shipped out" thing and so she got to learn who he was as time went by.

I hate to sound so gloomy about it, but it may be that your getting an early peek as to who you'd be with down the road, and least your fortunate enough to see it before something like marriage and kids.

I like Sperosi's idea personally, if you have to pull at straws to find things worth holding onto with this person, then you may have your answer.

Okay then question: Is it possible to talk about this with your partner and come to a compromise?? I'm still giving my boyfriend the benefit of the doubt at this point (even though maybe I shouldn't) just because we haven't sat down and had a serious conversation about it before. Yes I've light heartedly mentioned these things a few times, and he has "jokingly" said a few things as well but... it was by no means a heart to heart.

yes it is possible to sit down and talk about it. but timing and location will be key. in private, quiet environment with no interruptions or distractions. a lot also depends on whether or not you two have or can have deep conversations without getting upset with each other.

That and you need to be able to trust that he can take something like this seriously. In the issue of my friend she tried talking to her husband, but he didn't see that he was doing anything wrong as to him he was simply being himself.

It would certainly be a good start though, give you the confirmation either way if the two of you can do so and keep level heads.

another question you need to ask, and you need to ask yourself is:

am i willing to compromise on this, or would it be me just settling?

compromises can usually last pretty well as long as both sides try.

settling almost always leads to resentment eventually.

            which is it for you?

I know this is probably a bad idea, but I'm just going to stop initiating affection and/or sex and see what happens. It's hard on the self esteem to always initiate, and still fell like the only one wanting to do it. In the beginning he was all happy and touchy feeling and now it's like a switch went off and we're just buddies.
I'm going to try to see if it's something I can live with because I really love this guy. Maybe it will spur him to be more affectionate, maybe not.

Then in two weeks he'll register here and ask 'My girlfriend doesn't like sex anymore. What's wrong with her?'

LOL I heard so much about how former GFs just lost interest, weren't very into sex or started getting into something really kinky. So he gets a woman who wants him all the time, loves variety, doesn't give up on him when he start weirding out and what does he do?

How many times do you try? I've been through this before although in not quite this manner. We talked for hours and hours about sex, relationships, how to communicate and interact positively, it certainly seemed like we were on the same page. What does it take to get people to knock off the carp, quit playing games and be real? It's all fear based. They won't like me as me, so I'll be somebody else until they do fall for me and then I'll hit them right between the eyes with all my bagage and trash and if they say anything, I'll hit them with everything I know about them or their history even if it has nothing to do with the situation.

For crying out loud! Everybody on the planet needs to grow up! Quit taking themselves so seriously and quit walking in constant fear.

Best statement I've heard in a LONG time!
