Age is just a number, just ask any pedophile.

okayyy but in some cases, you see a 20 something years old with a 60+ something years old man.

    Is that possible :/
Like could they actually love eachother.
I mean in most cases the man has a lot of money, for instance a family friend of ours has got a 20 something years old fience and his 71 ?
Yes, it is remarkable how far people will go out of their generation for romance when stoopid-rich amounts of money are involved. (Which could be less than you think, if you lived in a trailer park for 18 years).

Other than that, sex is still good, if not as vigorous (and he's had 50 years practice). Unencumbered by a full-time job the senior set have more free-time than anyone else. Living a good long life has made most people knowledgable about a wide range of subjects (shouldn't be a problem finding some common interests).

But usually money alone can swing the vote.

It depends on each individual relationship and whether the people involved are okay with it. Some love the idea of dating a way older/younger person, others think it's a little odd. To each their own pretty much. Like stated above, a lot of people are willing to overlook it if it means a huge benefit, not that I condone that.

Depends on where the people are too. I have cousins who dated 23 year old guys when they were 13. Kinda creepy.

But I agree with the comment about maturity when it's in other cases. If you're on the same wave length and it doesn't bother those IN the relationship.... more power to 'em.

Occasionally large gaps do work and it is love. More commonly I think eventually the different places people are in their lives at different ages is going to cause too many problems. Unless they are just sticking around for an unconventional relationship instead of love and spending their lives together. Sometimes sex is just sex no matter how good it is and sometimes people don't care if they are being used so long as they also get what they want.

The answer to this question isn't black & white. Some people are more mature than others, life experiences can be greatly different, health/vitality/physique also vary significantly with all leading to different preferences. Clearly the person must be legal, so the question really is how old is too old? And if you believe in soul-mates, would this change the answer at all?

There is no general formula as to what is right and wrong with age differences. I agree with some here, that it all depends on the two people involved. I've taken more concern in times past not so much with the gap itself but where the extreme is. If the youngest is hardly a preteen and the oldest is nearly thirty, then yes that is beyond acceptable in my book, as it would be if the oldest was ninety and the youngest barely out of college. Now take that same young person and move the age to right before graduating highschool, and say the older person is in their mid 30's, it's still odd, but the fact that the younger is on the cusp of "adulthood" makes it a bit more viable in my book.

My hangup is what kind of relationship could you have? What mutual interests could there be? Sure there are always rare acceptions, but in a normal circumstance, it doesn't add up and it's hard not to assume something else is going on. Ultimately though, like I said, it all depends on the two involved.

I got some buddies that swear by 'half your age plus seven' regarding the youngest you can date, and I guess the reverse is true for the oldest you can date. So a 30 year old guy's minimum would be 22 and his maximum 46.

It's an interesting approach though I don't think real life is as scientific. Like you said, it depends on the people involved. Both could be 30, for instance, and incompatible if their maturity levels are too far apart.

Less likely to happen than if she is 20 and he is 60, but it happens..

Half your age plus seven is a very usable formula but as they say rules are made to be broken

Ive never thought there to be a problem with age differences in a relationship (obviously to an extent!!). There is a 8 year gap between me and my boyfriend. (he's the older one). my mum went nuts when she found out, whereas the rest of my family wernt bothered by it. I guess it just depends on the person.

I agree with the above posters,It depends on the two people. It depends on how compatible they are,how mature one another is.I have always preferred older men, specifically because men my age are very immature and all they care about is getting into a girls pants. Many older men seem very mature and level headed. My man is older than me by years, and he is the best thing that has ever happened to me,honestly. The compatibility is there, AND our maturity levels are pretty similar.Although there does come a point where the age difference is a bit much.Such as a 15yr old woman dating a 42yr old man.

If your dating a man/woman who is old enough to be your father/mother,that is just odd. Then again,I am not judging, its just my opinion, and its how I look at the matter. Some women enjoy 'father figured' men,but I on the other hand, look for an older man whom I can love with all my heart, and be loved in return.I am not a 'gold digger' or looking for a booty call,as a proud 16yr old virgin,I have always wanted a guy who is older, experienced, and patient,And I have been so lucky as to find him.

Being in an 11-year age gap relationship and not having had a relationship with someone less than 7 years older than me: It depends on the personality. There are women in their 20's who are mature and know what they want and don't just want to party. There are also men in their 40's who behave like infants. Some times the maturity of one balances the immaturity of the other, regardless of who is the youngest.

As for those 70-year old men who "marry" 20-year old women, I'd really rather not make a comment at all, other than I find it ridiculous.
