Alphas are not always showy. I don't have any other way to say this, but IMO I think you are more alpha than you think you are and that can lead to clashes with other alphas. Then it seems like you would like a compatible beta to take over the alpha roles that you need to be beta to. I don't know, it's just the feeling I get. I'm not trying to put you down, just help you understand yourself.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, VirginiaComment

Hi jns-yes, I haven't gotten along with other alphas at all. My former coach described herself as an alpha female, and wanted her clients to marry alpha males. But, the men that I was attracted were more beta.the last person I was extremely attracted to let me have all of the control in bed. He probably would be too passive for some women."Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment

So Mag you like and want to be the women to be in control in the bed. With your men partners then, I am thinking some men don't like that. There nature is to be the one to have control in bed with there female partners. When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.Comment

Just bc I like to be in control doesn't mean that I wouldn't let the man take charge. I never said that. Some guys have wrongfully accused me of being submissive, just bc im a giver. I think the giver has a lot of control"Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment

Jns-I'm curious as to what you think is alpha about me. I'm an infj on the mbti, which is heaven for me to find out. All of the infjs I know are so much like me. Even the attractive and intelligent infj males struggle with relationships. We just can't date people that we don't have an intense and deep bond with."Dating is like slow dancing. I wouldn't get too caught up in labels. There are plenty of successful and emotionally intelligent males who can relinquish control (or at least share control) in the bedroom. To bring the thread back full circle, emotional bonds are deeper than physical chemistry and take longer to develop. Don't reject the possibility of a great relationship because the initial impression is just "ok". Look deeper."The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you." Effy-I've already tried numerous times to see where things would go at just an initial connection seeming okay. Nothing happened. I even dated someone in college for a year that I wasn't in love with. The feeling of having sex with someone that you're not into is very hard. Also, the other person will feel led on and hurt knowing that you can't forge any deeper feelings for them. My ex in college became very bitter and resentful towards me, and I don't blame him. Who wants to hear that their partner was trying to force themselves to fall in love? If nothing happens after a few dates, months or a year-Please tell me what was the point in the first place? I would hate to hurt someone like that again."Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment
