You know what? We don't live in caves anymore, we don't mate solely for the purpose of procreation, and any man that thinks women don't care ENOUGH about what they look like needs surgery to get their empty head removed from their butt.
I am a very attractive woman (I have been told this, although I think it is probably the least important thing about me) and I have worked in bars for a number of years, so i have had the opportunity to be both approached frequently and to observe many other attempts at "picking up". The only thing I have to say to you is this:
If that is how you want to meet someone, and the person you want to meet is the kind of person that spends most of their time trying to look good, then I wish you luck with your superficial and vapid relationship. I know exactly what you are talking about. Me, it can be just as simple as a touch with my fellow. I get this feeling that can only be explained as kind of a warm sensation wherever he touches me. I can lay my head on his shoulder and I get this overwhelming peaceful feeling.

It's a crazy feeling! I love when I'm with him and I feel protected. It's a great feeling. I love when he does the little stuff. Such as, sit next to me for almost the whole day when I got sick and was in bed (so he got a folding chair and sat next to the bed).

I read today here, which gave me goose pimples, where a passionate kiss was shared, which had not been shared for a long time yet yearned for and his toes curled.

I think the best foreplay to be honest is kissing, there is just something there, that takes me to heights inside, when in love.
