Ok, so I went through hell when I started dating my current GF. You see, she is Brazilian, and to me, that meant that if I even had a strand of body hair that I couldn't be with her. So I went to this cool Russian lady that waxed my whole body. It was painful, but I was able to tolerate it.
I then waxed a second time... then a third time... See, what happened was that as my level of infatuation with my GF began to plateau, my tolerance for pain began to dip! It's funny because the Russian lady told me that each subsequent session should hurt less. Man, it felt like it hurt exponentially more!
The pain became extremely intolerable, and the sessions felt like they were hours long (time did not move it was so aweful). The lady waxing me noticed my discomfort and was trying to convince me to stop. She asked me why I was doing this, and I said because my of my girlfriend. And she responded with "find a new girlfriend." And that's when it hit me. I never even talked to my GF about waxing my whole body. Maybe she doesn't even want me to do it. The pain was so intolerable that I decided that I would break up with her if she wanted all my body hair waxed.
So I talked to her about it and she laughed at me, then gave me a big hug and said she was flattered that I went through all that trauma for her, when in reality, she could care less if I was waxed or not.
I feel like I loved her more after that. It may have been due to the fact that my brain perceived her not caring as an act of heroism... saving me from the agony that is to wax one's body.
Erm she is not your significant other half
