Tell me you ideas here...I have read an interesting idea about this (Steve Harvey). It said, and I quote, " the only way a woman can truly be completely satisfied is to get herself four different men - an old one, an ugly one, a Mandingo, and a gay guy." The four combined into one person - we women are covered. Why?

    1. The old man (financial security) - sits around the house with you, spends his pension check on you, hug you, hold you, give you comfort, and won't expect any sex from you because he can't "get it up" anyway...lol.

    2. The ugly one (gives you all the attention you seek) - whatever you need - run you down the grocery store, wash your car, babysit your cat - he'll provide because he's happy someone as beautiful as you is paying him any kind of attention.

    3. The Mandingo man (sex) - he's big, he's not necessarily that smart, but he's got the yummy physique - that's all you want from him, and he makes sure he gives it to you real good - mind blowing sex!

    4. The gay guy (gossip-mate) - someone you can go shopping with, who doesn't want anything from you but gossip and details about what the old man bought you, which errands you sent the ugly guy to take care of, and exactly how Mandingo had you doing monkey flips for a week...all the conversation you need.

Now...guys and gals, what have you to say?
I think financial security is nice. I mean, At least someone who now knows how to manage their money, even if they didn't in their past, but I'm still youngish, so I try to be flexible.

I don't expect someone to bend over backwards all the time. I had a guy like that once and I didn't think he had enough backbone (not saying all nice guys are like that, but his going out of his way to do things for me, usually meant he was always giving up when we needed to have a discussion on something important)

I don't care if my guy wants to shop with me or chat about feelings. That's what my girlfriends are for.

The sex part sounds nice though lol

That list doesn't do it for me. I was blissfully happy when we were tearing out walls together, chatting while I'm cutting tile. I love it when we work together and play together. We borrow each other's tools and trade ideas about the best way to get a job done. Mutual respect and interdependence rather than co-dependant or simply dependant are needed.

I don't want sex with a muscle bound, pretty boy. I want to share, build something together, laugh, stay up half the night talking sometimes and just crash out together some other times.

That's more of the physical apsect, Brian. How about intrinsic qualities. At the same time, mya I ask, what have you to offer a woman? - just asking, hoping not to come across as being tacky!

When I was younger, before I really dated anybody, I always pictured myself falling for a guy who was just a simple, down to earth kind of guy, somebody who was fun to be with, who loved animals and was an outdoorsy type. Now I have found all those qualities and so much more in my fiance. He's really like my best friend. We talk about everything, we goof off and go shopping together, he watches chick flicks with me, he loves animals even more than I do, sex is awesome. He can irritate me until I'm ready to strangle him but I wouldn't wnat to live my life without him. He has a strong protector instinct that make sme feel all warm and safe inside and I've never met another person with a heart as big as he has. he'd do anything for anybody, just about.

I'm thinking the average woman just wants a reliable guy that respects her, is attentive but not to the point of being a doormat, has a good sense of humor but can hold an intelligent conversation, and can tear things up in the bedroom.

In general terms that about covers it.

I agree with you, Tex. Now I am wondering about the women who just have NSA's. Do you think they are just after getting off, or they also crave for that illusive fulfilling relationship?

Cat, amusing article but men don't fall into only those categories... plus, the overall message reinforces what has already been called out as a problem in other threads, mainly, that a single person can't fully meet another's needs...

I also noticed there is no Smart/Good Looking guy combo in the list of choices. What's up with that?!?

Maybe because these Smart/ Good looking guys are generally stereotyped as players? ( Which I really don't agree about).

I want a man who would be an amazing father. I don't think that I consciously look for that quality from the start, but when I see a glimpse of it I think it's a definite selling point. I also think strength is important. I need a man who can pick me up if I'm hurt or protect me.
