    Not A Fan of YAZ!

I have been on Yaz for 7 months now. Never had problems with BC until Yaz. I decided to try it because my old BC was discontinued and it seemed great to have a shorter period. In the beginning I started to have excessive discharge, was more emotional than without BC around the time of my period and was diagnosed with a yeast infection (ok, so I can't claim that it was caused by the Yaz, but I never had problems before with getting random yeast infections). Couple months later I didn't have shorter periods, I had super long ones. We're talking 16 days. And it didn't happen once, but twice. I also started to clot alot! Never had this issue before. That definately can't be a good thing since blood clots can lead to death...
Anyhow, I have decided Im not going to finish out the 7th month because I can't deal with the issues anymore. Hope this helps those that are frustrated out there with this medication. It's not just you....

Hi, I hope someone can help. I took Yaz for about 10 months and have been off them for 7 months and can't get pregnant. I know I should probably not be worring since it hasn't been a year yet but I was only off BC, another brand, for a month when I got pregnant with my son who is now 18 months old. I have even resorted to the ovulation test that you do every day for 20 days and either I can't read those darn sticks or Im not ovulating. I know as we get older it gets harder to conceive but I had no problems at 30 and 32 and now at 35 I cant seem to get pregnant. Does anyone know of infertility tied to those darn pills which by the way I will never take again? Would love any and all suggestions. thanks

My-self and one of my close girlfriends have both been on Yaz and it lowered our sex drives and mine was just after I had my daughter so it took my already lower than normal sex drive and made it even worse. The Yaz also caused me constant headaches until I stopped taking it.

Not trying to get into business but why did you start YAZ? My doctor put me on it about 4 months ago because my PMS was so bad to the point they said it was PMDD I'm only asking to find out if it has really worked for anyone. I mean I guess it's helping but not a 100% sure. And I have notice that my sex drive isn't what it use to be.

I guess I'm just trying to figure out if it's really worth or not becaue even with insurance it's expensive.

            complete loss of libido

When I took Yaz i felt fine except in a month or two I had completely lost my sex drive! Be warned a lot of people of have experienced loss of libido on this form of brith control. It took about a year to gain it back. I suggest you to get off the pill immediately and change to a different brand.

You know something else that I've notice is I've gained weight about 5-6 lbs that I can not get off of me for the love of God !!! And I know it's not a whole lot but I have been doing everything that I used to and nothing is working. The commercials make it look like the happy pill of birth control but now I'm thinking of just switching back. I want to think that it has helped with PMDD whatever you want to call it but than I wonder if it really has... The weight gain and lost of sex drive has totally gotten me concern !

I had that same problem! It was good for me for a while but then I had the same problems with lubrication, no sex drive (still hasn't gotten better since I took it for 3 yrs), it made me feel depressed. Yaz is horrible!

Pyclau: I also started passing out with yaz. I fell off of an eliptical machine at the gym. I forgot to mention that in the other message.

                      hello,
i have been taking yaz for about 4 months now, and to be honest; it worked better than the other b.c. pills i was taking. i have been on b.c. pills for 6 years now and 5 different kinds. out of all of them yaz has controlled my pmdd the best. i have lost jobs and relationships because of pmdd. i believe that yaz is strictly for pmdd and nothing else. i have heard that if yaz doesn't work for you that luthera can be better. i took luthera and it did not help at all. my bf has seen me on 3 different birth control pills, (including yaz) and he says its way better for me at least.

i am sorry for those who have had a bad experience with yaz.
