      Problems only after quiting Yaz

While I was on the pill Yaz, everything was great. My migraines, cramps all went away. It was great. When I stopped taking the pill after 4 months of being on it, the following month I developed cysts again and missed my period. Last month I had a normal period on time with minimal cramps, no headache at all. A week after my period I had additional bleeding with no cramps or signs. This month I have not had a period, but had horrible migraines and some cramping but very minimal. Anyone else had anything similar or could give me some advice. I have an appointment with my doctor but it's not until Sept. 14th so I still have some time to wait. I'm 24 years and healthy, not over weight, had one child vaginal with no problems. I have had cysts since I started having periods however when on Yaz I had none.

Did your daughter or does your family have any history of diabetes? I just found out that having diabetes can cause complications with using Yaz like blood clots. I have diabetes and my mother is a diabetic taking insulin shots so I am too concerned now that I have taken Yaz without a doctor asking me if I had any diabetes history. My doctor should know my medical history before prescribing any medications. I am going to check with my doctor's office to make sure I marked diabetes on the medical history form but a good doctor would have asked more questions. My doctor just said lets try Yaz because Ortho causes my migraines to increase.

            Problems with YAZ

YES YES YES..... I was on Yaz to help me regulate my period.....before I had to have my DNC done, YAZ made me bleed just like that, I was messing up my clothes, my bedding.... EVERYTHING! I had bloodclots that size of silver dollars..... I understand what you are going through, and I can tell you that much that, that is NOT a common side effect, regardless of what anybody tell you. I have been through it and I needed a freaking DNC in order to regulate my periods, and I am still trying to get pregnant.

I've been taking Yaz for about 2 years now. It has cleared up all my symptoms of PMDD(which were so severe that I couldn't function for at least 10 days before my period). My stomache would bloat to the point that I looked 5 months pregnant, I was so irratable that noone could stand to be near me, I was so fatigued that I would nod off even during driving, and I would break out with acne(which is unusual being that I was 45 years old). I don't know what to do since hearing about the law suits against Yaz claiming that Yaz has caused 50 or so deaths do to heart attack, stroke, and clots in the lungs. Iv'e looked up the ingrediants in Yaz and have discovered that it is the only pill that contains the Progestin called Drospirenone. This progestin increases potasium levels which could have fatal side effects. I have had decreased labido and am dry during intercourse. My 20 year old daughter also has PMDD and takes Yaz and now I am so worried. I want to off of Yaz but dont know what other pill to take that will help with PMDD. Has anyone with PMDD had any luck on another pill. Please Help!!!

This is my first month on YAZ. I've never been on bc before but have always had irregular clotty periods. Im working in Korea at the moment and it was really getting me down so i went to a gyno here. She did all tests and said I had a cyst (which she took out) and a hormone imbalance. She put me on yaz. When i first took it, it caused painful cramps but they eventually went away. The only sympton I have noticed is vaginal dryness which is rather irratating. Anyways Ive just finished my last pink pill, does anyone know when my period should now come? I've got spots and headache so I hope its bloody coming.

                    Dont use Yaz

                    HI
My name is Kay , and I was on Yaz for about a year. My GYN recommended it after ganing weight with the Othro tri birth control pill. Yaz was suppose to help manage my weight and water retention. Yaz did not give me any problems until 6 months after I was taking it. I DO NOT SMOKE(I hate cigarettes). My husband started to notice that I was weezing in my sleep. My chest would hurt. Sharp pains in my chest. Right arm numb and cramps in my legs. At first I thought it was because I was out of shape. By March of 2009, I stopped taking YAZ. I was told it was giving me a stroke. I am only 28 years old. Since then I have been dealing with the pains in my legs. What should I do about this?

I was previously on YAZ for extreme pain and other symptoms during my period. It worked like a charm. Within the first two months I had no more problems and my monthly visitor came and went like a breeze. However, after being on it for about a year and a half it completely turned my cycle off. Apparently, it wasn't creating enough of a lining to shed. I was then placed on yasmin. I know... it now has just as many concerns as yaz. After a few months of the yasmin, all of my symptoms came back. I was in so much pain that I could barely function. They are beginning to think that I have the physical side of PMDD. I am back on the yaz, so we shall see.

I think it is important though to mention that everyone should be involved in the meds they are taking. Do the research just like your doctor should be doing. And never wait for your doctor to ask what meds you are already taking. You should always make sure your doctor knows exactly what your other doctors are advising and prescribing. Fortunately,
