I do everything I'm suppose to do: go to the bathroom before and after sex, don't hold it in too long, wipe from front to back, etc. and I've even taken cranberry supplements and B-Mannose and I keep getting them. Of course the doctor doesn't really question anything even after I tell them how many I get, and just gives me antibiotics, but I'm getting worried that the antibiotics are gonna stop working soon because I've been getting prescribed to so many of them in such a short amount of time. Oh yeah... and then on top of them I get yeast infections cause the antibiotics kill all the natural in my vagina.

Do any of you know anything that I can do???? or do any of you know if a doctor can prescribe me something other than antibiotics for it? It's getting pretty ridiculous!!!! Thanks )
I have been having negative tests for uti's for years now and it's been really getting me down! I do everything right, I have had all the tests to make sure my bladder completely empties, it's so frustrating!

I have recently just switched doctors and she ordered a spiral ct scan for suspected kidney stones because of some pain I have been getting. It showed up something called gravel in my kidneys. This can cause the symptoms of uti but will show up negative to tests. Finally some answers! This can also be linked to diet which is consistent with a little experiment I did of my own a while back!
I did the green juice cleanse from 'fat, sick and nearly dead' (a great watch if you havent seen it) not only did my overall health inprove, but the whole time I did it, NO uti's! Now this is just unheard of for me (I get them on average twice a week) but when I started re introducing food groups, I found that processed stuff or things high in sodium and sugar kicked off the uti's again! I did fall back into old habbits but clean eating can be expensive and I'm not always great with time management!

My point is this, if your doctor is happy to just keep pushing pills and not look into your issue seriously, change doctors! I felt real anger when I found out that this can be a common thing and wondered why all my previous doctors had never thought to check for it! Having a good doctor can make all the difference!

    Good luck Bellas! Xx

I have constant utis as well once a month or less. They are coming more often than before, regardless of how well I do the much familiar treatments and cleaning. I have always had bladder problems though so its not surprising it getting worse. The doctors put me on the same antibiotics and thus I too get yeast infections from this. A part of me can't help wandering if the bladder, urethra, or something is deformed down there, causing frequent utis? I had it checked when I was in seventh grade and found my bladder was much smaller than what it should be. Maybe this would be the same for you? If anything it helps to know that your not alone.

Ok so for six years! I have been having the same problem. I was on antibiotics all the time, did a 6 months low dose cycle, went to several urologists, was on cranberry pils, etc. but to no avail. One day I just decided to buy Summer's Eve for Sensitive Skin and not once since using that product have I gotten an UTI!! I hope it saves you like it saved me.

I got another thing that might help

i am in my early twenties & have been dealing with relatively frequent UTIs since my late teens. On avg, I have about 3-4 a year.. sometimes more. I'm a runner, vegetarian, & I drink tons of water, so my I am in relatively good health.

In 2010, per my urologist's suggestion, I had a urethral dilation in hopes that would empty my bladder more fully. In 2011, I had a surgery to remove a cyst that was pressing on my bladder. Neither of these stopped the UTIs. I was then prescribed a low dose antibiotic to take with intercourse. I live with my boyfriend, and I worry taking an antibiotic so frequently. This didn't seem like a great long-term solution for me, health wise. I read several worrisome things about nitrofuritan (sp?) and decided to stop taking it.

Now, I take D-Mannose everyday. I also take fem-dophulis probiotic (sp?). I bought both at Whole Foods. D-Mannose is ~ $30 and the probiotic is ~ $20 (the probiotic needs to be kept refridgerated). I put lemon slices in my water bottles to keep my urine acidic. I also take cran pills. I much prefer seeking herbal remedies instead of bombarding my body with prescription antibiotics as a preventative measure only. This seems to decrease the frequency of my UTIs, but has not got rid of them completely.

please seek your doctor's advice if you actually have a UTI. They do not go away on their own, and they can spread to your kidney/blood and cause a more serious infection.

You can also try using feminine washes. I got UTIs all the time until I started to use Summer's Eve. I just am so happy because I would get them monthly for 6 years straight and now I've been UTI free since March!!! I hope it works for you too!

            Cure for UTI's after intercourse

This might make you cringe at first, but I had the same problem. Probably got like 14 infections in one year. Tried everything. Here's what works. Get a syringe sized plunger, like the same thing as a needle but without the actual needle. Fill that with colloidal silver and inject it right into the urethra. Haven't had an infection since I started doing that, except one time when I didn't do it. At first it's very strange and weird, but it doesn't hurt and is totally worth not getting an infection and all the yeast build up in the body from antibiotics. You can also drink the silver but the bladder and urethra are the last stop, so I don't feel it works as well. Another tip, investing in the machine and making it at home is way cheaper in the long run. Pennies a bottle. Make sure the machine you buy is lab tested. Good luck!

Be careful with RenegadeWarrior's advice. This from the mayo clinic:

Colloidal silver isn't considered safe or effective for any of the health claims manufacturers make. Silver has no known purpose in the body. Nor is it an essential mineral, as some sellers of silver products claim.
