    Constant uti

i basically have permanent uti, that just makes me miserable. when there is excruciating pain i get so irritated and cant function. i just randomly get it, it doesnt last as long as the first time i had uti but ill get for for a few days then it goes away then ill get again the next few days and so on.
i just dont feeel right down there ever and peeeing is never the same!

im trying to see a urologist but i need to be referred by my doctor. my problem is when i go take a test for uti it shows i dont have it. which is very strange because i have all the symptoms of uti.

id rather use home remedies cause my doctor sucks

      This worked for me:
D'mannose (I use Quest brand 500mg capsules-60 capsules per bottle)
Uva Ursi (I use Nature's Way 480mg capsules-100 capsules per bottle).
Take 3-500mg capsules D'mannose (1500mg total) and 2-480mg capsules Uva Ursi ( 960mg total) three times a day for three days. (I call this the 'purging' stage, because you'll pee large volumes this stage).
Then reduce to 2-500mg capsules D'mannose (1000mg total) and 1-480mg capsules Uva Ursi (480mg total) twice a day for four to seven days, stopping when symptoms are improved.
D'mannose can then be taken daily as a preventative but it is important not to take Uva Ursi for more than two weeks.
I suffered from recurring UTI's and was on IV antibiotics for the majority of the winter. I had a cystoscopy and was an outpatient of the emergency ward at the hospital for 3 months for monitoring. I had an extremely high white count and low grade fever, and was peeing out thick urine and blood the entire duration. The majority of the bacterial cultures were negative, even though I had all the symptoms of a UTI. The urologist recommended a urethral dilation and biopsies but when it was time for the procedure the anestesiologst cancelled because of my fever. I was devestated. I went into a health food store on my way home out of desperation and this is what she recommended. My symptoms improved within 24 hours and were completely gone witin a week. I did the above treatment and then took d'mannose on it's own for a month after. I haven't had any symptoms since. Good Luck

I don't know if anyone's menitoned this yet, but...

Is your partner clean and free of any Mouth/teeth infections?
My boyfriend was prone to abcesses and infections, and bacteria is bacteria and everytime we would have sex, (thankfully a rare occasion) I would get yet another infection.
A year ago he had his teeth pulled and replaced with dentures. I haven't had a UTI since.

          Hiya

I think you should get checked for Pyelonephritis.

Pyelonephritis is a bacterial infection of one or both kidneys. I believe it's a third level UTI, where the infection actually effects the kidneys.

I'm not saying anyone has this, but this is a cause of constant UTI's, and it is dangerous.

However, any physical obstruction to the flow of urine, such as a structural abnormality, kidney stone, or an enlarged prostate, or the backflow (reflux) of urine from the bladder into the ureters is also causes of UTI's.

There is many things that could cause it, next time at the doctors, ask them to check for those. And to treat the cause of the UTI's instead of just worrying over the UTI it's self.

          Hope I helped some.

I also suffer from frequent utis. I ended up going to a urologist. Apparently my urethra needed to be expanded. All the urine wasnt getting out causing infection. So Id check that out

I have had numerous utis. The doctor said it could be lack of estrogen. I have been taking vitamin c. It seems to be helping. The bacteria in the uretha tubes does not thrive in the acidity. Its worth a try.

I have suffered from chronic UTIs for most of my life...started when I was around 7. The doctors finally decided to put me on antibiotics permanently. At first they prescribed Bactrum which worked very well until I became immune to it in my early teens. Then they switched me to Macrodatin and I have been on it ever since (I am now 34). Other than the annoyance of having to take meds every day, it has no side effects for me (and is well tolerated in general). I have just accepted that I will need this medication for the rest of my life in order to function.
