hi ladies. i too have this problem and have recently come across a solution that doesnt involve crazy backwards toilet using. of course you need maintain good hygiene and that we do and still get effected regular uti and yest infections.
the solution is your diet! i know i though it was a load of crock to but it seriously works. i was reffered to a realy good natropath dieticion and who also was licensed in iridology. she explained that your diet is realy specific and unique to the individual. and certain things can trigger more Candida in your body (Candida being in everyone, just in different levels. in jigher doeses it can make you sick tired and moody, and affect certain organs and infections) the food you eat can increase the leavels of Candida in your body. In my case my poison was potato (which i LOVE) and other foods i thought were healthy. also red meat was a gient killer for me. but it depend on your blood type and other factors. i myself am a type A+ and certain foods that are toxic to me may be harmless to a person of a different blood type.
I went on this diet as the bigist sceptic. and after about 2 weeks of the diet and herbal medications to flush the pre existing Candida out of my body i started to feel less tired. and less moody. best of all as long as i stick to my diet i dont get uti or yest infections it went well for 6 months with no infections. but the second i slip up n splerg on a week of potato and bad stuf.. hello uti!! back on the diet n all cleared up. just thought that might help. if you know your blood type i am happy to send a general summery of what you should n realy shouldnt be eating
PS> too much Candida in your body of long periods of time can lead to Cancer. and also a good healthy diet to keep candida at bay can PRevent / help from getting cancer. if you know some one with cancer please incorage them to get there dietry neads cheacked by soeone who knows what they are talking about. a good diet of the right foods FOR THEM can slow down the process and help treatmets work more effectively.

      trust me you will know...

frequent urination, painful urination, strong urge to go minutes after urination, if severe infection is present there can be blood in your urine.

I've been there! For about 3 years, I battled constant UTIs ~ I drank the juice, wore cotton underwear, pee before and after...didn't matter. I saw my pcp constantly, had CAT scans, saw a urologist...nothing. Finally, after another evening appt at my dr's, I was able to sit down with a nurse practioner, and explained it all. She prescribed Cipro (250 mg), to be taken immediately after sex, and only then. It worked! I haven't had a UTI in almost 7 years.

I know we shouldn't "abuse" antibiotics, and I hate taking them even for a sinus infection, but this has been my saving grace. Perhaps, if you're finding you get them after sex, or anything related, and only then, you should mention this to your doctor. Good Luck!

What is common JenyG is a prolonged course 6 - 12 months of a low dose antibiotic..which apparenty reduces the frequency of UTI's.

Cranberry Juice, or tables may also assist, there is a food group for every problem we have in life that helps

The problem is, the space between your butt and vagina Bacteria can easily spread and hygiene isn't always as easy as you think, such as wiping backwards on number twos.

It does also refer to G-strings... Think about it, the thong part is very thin, an inch... It moves as you walk, you pull at it as well, but because it moves, it spreads the bacteria just that little bit closer each time.

Also apparently washing G-strings in hot water does not kill the bacteria. Washing them with other clothes spreads the bacteria...

Always wash them separately and I heard from a Doctor (I've never had UTI) however, that placing a small amount of mouth wash in the washing, will kill the bacteria.

Thinking of all the times I wear G-Strings Wasn't a good choice after all.... The good part is when you get to my age, it's almost impossible to get a UTI, from them, so now I can be queen of the G-Strings

UTI"s I used to get them all the time in my early 20's. Here's what I learned and did. Emaculate hygene a must. In the shower, wash rectal areas, whole perenial areas with lots of soap and hot water. Before sex, sit on toilet and run a pitcher of water over whole perenial area. If you made a bowel movt, after your morning shower, than you need to wash the area with soap before sex! After sex, run a pitcher of water over yourself as well. Dry thourally. this was the trick for me ladies. Once I did this, no more UTI's ever, and I'm 50 now. Since then, my daugher has gotten them. I think she was wiping the wrong way unconciously, but in any case, I didn't want her on all the antibiotics. We tried lots of cranberry supplements, but also, D-Mannose powder. It stops it! Get on it right away!!! At the first sign, take it every 1/2 hour to hour. Keep it up, then you can back off. Guarrenteed cure folks! It literally was the cure for my daughter who was young, and obviously not sexually active. D-Mannuse keeps the bacteria from sticking. It will work.

I know what you've been going through! My uti is so bad I get it permanently basically, I could only get rid of it for a day, then it would come back.
I think what mainly caused it was sex with my boyfriend.
Here are a bunch of ways to cure your UTI
-drink a lot of fluids! Coffee seems to help make you have to go quicker but I suggest natural fluids.
-NO SEX OR MASTURBATION, but if so, take a shower before and after. Also, after sex try to get that last drop of pee out.
                  -HAVE A HEALTHY BALANCED DIET.
-sit on the toilet facing the wall, and push all you can out. If you still f
eel pee in there an you can't push it out, PUSH HARDER! try to distract yourself and get it off your mind, use your phone while trying. But also, push on your bladders with your hands while trying to push the pee out.
                  - take Azo tablets, you can but them at CVS for $7, and I suggest buying two packs a weekend, it is a bit pricey but worth it! Also, try to take these tablets to prevent uti as well. These tablets are made to flush out your system, but don't get worried if your pee is orange, that's from the tablets, that's supposed to happen.
                  -use UNSCENTED soaps!
-when you whipe, either use a whipe, or wet toilet paper to whipe, then use dry toilet paper after! Try to use gentle toilet paper though.
                  - USE COTTON UNDIES ONLY! during the night, don't wear underwear at all, it needs air
                  -alot of vitamin C!!
-do not go to the doctors unless its a urologist, its a waste of money! Prescribed antibiotics will soon stop working for you!
                  -wear different jeans every day!
-if you're discharging a lot, whipe it off as much as you can!
-if you're on your period, try to use pads and change them every two hours, same with tampons!
                  -Drink water before bed!

Hi, here's some more info on preventing UTI's.
When you flush a toilet, it creates an aerosol of the toilet bowl water, which then mixes with the air in your bathroom and settles here and there, including on the toilet paper. Researchers have cultured E. Coli etc. after toilet flushes, from the air above the toilet bowl.
So, to prevent UTI's it may help to close the lid before flushing. Also, make sure the toilet bowl is cleaned often so there are fewer germs to get aerosolized or maybe splash on you. I don't know how often is necessary, online various sites say the toilet should be cleaned once a week, as part of general hygiene.
The newer water-saving toilets may be worse for UTI's. I got a water-saving toilet and I regret having sold my old "wasteful" toilet that never splashed. Now I have to lay down toilet paper over the bowl water before #2, which helps prevent splashes but doesn't work perfectly.

                      hi everyone,

i am in my early twenties & have been dealing with relatively frequent UTIs since my late teens. On avg, I have about 3-4 a year.. sometimes more. I'm a runner, vegetarian, & I drink tons of water, so my I am in relatively good health.

In 2010, per my urologist's suggestion, I had a urethral dilation in hopes that would empty my bladder more fully. In 2011, I had a surgery to remove a cyst that was pressing on my bladder. Neither of these stopped the UTIs. I was then prescribed a low dose antibiotic to take with intercourse. I live with my boyfriend, and I worry taking an antibiotic so frequently. This didn't seem like a great long-term solution for me, health wise. I read several worrisome things about nitrofuritan (sp?) and decided to stop taking it.

Now, I take D-Mannose everyday. I also take fem-dophulis probiotic (sp?). I bought both at Whole Foods. D-Mannose is ~ $30 and the probiotic is ~ $20 (the probiotic needs to be kept refridgerated). I put lemon slices in my water bottles to keep my urine acidic. I also take cran pills. I much prefer seeking herbal remedies instead of bombarding my body with prescription antibiotics as a preventative measure only. This seems to decrease the frequency of my UTIs, but has not got rid of them completely.

please seek your doctor's advice if you actually have a UTI. They do not go away on their own, and they can spread to your kidney/blood and cause a more serious infection.
