Since I can remember (18 or 19 and I'm 27 now) I've had sharp pains in my nether-regions- kinda on the inside but can radiate to the outside to where if I'm sitting, kinda lifting myself off the seat actually helps... or seems to.
I don't have to be on or even near the time of my period to start, not doing much of anything most of the time, and it goes on for maybe the maximum of 10 seconds. Excrutiating pain! Wow - but it happens the once.... and doesn't happen again for months at a time. Just so random, and when it all began at 18 or so, I was not sexually active at all.
Always been on my mind as to what it was/is.. hasn't happened for a good 2 or 3 years now I don't think. I've always worried maybe I have cysts or something, but... my periods are VERY regular - I can predict when I start to a T pretty much.

Hi ladies!
Does anyone get sharp pains in the vaginal area? (I say "area" because my pains seem to travel in this area.)

I've been getting these super sharp pains that stop me dead in my tracks for almost a year now & I don't know what it could be. They've happened at all different times of the day & night with or without having sex.
Anyone have an idea what this could be???

i've read some of ya'lls posts.. im only 17 and it happens every once and a while. i don't really have anyone to talk to about it.. (it's embaressing also)
but also..? i've never been sexually active and i see that some of ya'll say "not during intercourse". is it common to have it even tho you've never had sex??? and yes. it gets so bad sometimes i'll be sitting at school and gasp and grab the desk..... that bad or walking down the hall and have to stop right then and there to wait for the pain to pass. i just dont get it

see.... iv looked up ovarian cyst.. and it's funny you mentioned it just now. im NOT regular. not even close. ...i just don't want to b that person that over thinks a situation. but i don't want to miss taking precautions either.?? ya know? ya. the pain is unbearable. i'v even cried a couple of times. (sounds dumb huh) did you ever talk to anyone about it... or did you just kinda ..cope with it?

i really.... really thought i was the only one. im sooo glad im not. i just stumbled acrosst this website. trying to find answers to why i hurt the way i do. and then i found you guys. i don't have anyone to talk to about this kinda thing. and i cant really afford the gyno. (im kinda scared to go to one also) i don't really want anyone down there. ya know? i see some of ya'll will mention that it's not when your being sexually active. well im still a virgin and i get them.. they're excruciating. i'll be sitting in school and they'll be sooo bad that i'll have to clutch my desk and close my eyes. they're soo bad that they make you gasp for air without even thinking about it. and they like.. paralyse you. and when your upright (walking) is the worst. you cant move. you have to stop!! it's like impossible to continue walking... am i crazy?

im different from the rest, im only 15.
but im just like everyone it will stop me dead in my tracks.
i will be uncomfortable all day but it comes and goes during the day.

I just came upon this thread and the first thing that came to my mind is Pudendal Neuralgia. I suffered with this for a couple of years. In my case, the pain felt like someone stuck a knife up my rectum and into my left seatbone. Sometimes it would go up my vagina and into my left seatbone. My tailbone would ache like a toothache and felt like it was sticking out of the skin.

I saw a pelvic pain specialist and was put on medication. I was on medication for a year and was able to come off. I have a "Tush Cush" wedge that I sit on while I'm driving or if I have to go somewhere and sit on anything hard. Mine was a severe case. The pains would hit me 30-50 times a day. They would sometimes drop me to my knees and I would break out in a cold sweat.

My doctor said it could have been an irritated nerve from delivering my last baby that weighed 9 lbs, but really it could be from anything. I also have a rectocele and and a slightly prolapsed uterus. One thing I did discover about my body, and this is a little gross, is that I have learned that if I start having that pain again, to check my rectum for stool. When I first discovered this, there was a lot of hard little balls of stool just inside the opening off to the side. They evidentally were there for awhile and made the pain much worse.

i'm nearly fifteen, and i've been starting to get pains in my vagina, but always in the same place, over the last few days. i have no idea what it is and just want to find out, but don't want to go to my doctor cause he's a guy, & that's kind of embarrassing. its not like really inside either, its at the kind of opening bit, if you get me? lol, im glad to know im not the only one xxx

im 17 years old now....only had my period twice. i began having my period in 2008. well its 2010 now. i dont know if it has to do with the shocks but ive also been getting them ever since 3rd grade (2003). ive went to the doctor and theyve done tests on me & still couldnt find why i havent had my period and also why i have these spasms. im glad now that im not the only "weird" one here

I am releaved to hear that this happens to other people! I get something like this too, though i would not describe it as a "sharp feeling were i have to stop dead in my tracks" its more like a long lasting pain in my vaginal area, but i cant describe it, it just hurts. this can last all day, or for twenty minutes. I am almost 15 years old and i have never had sex, so i dont know what to do. if i can figure out how to get rid of the pain myself, i will. but i dont want to tell my mom or a docter. but if its something serious then i will. i know im not compeletly alone because i know my sister gets this sometimes too, but im not about to ask my friends about it. haha. i have had this sense like 5th grade! its off and on. but i would really like to know how to get rid of this uncumfterble pain. if anyone know anything, PLEASE RESPOND!! thank you(: ~carmelkiss <3
