Yeah, I decided to skip doing the cream last night and I feel 10x better today. I really don't think doing this for a year is going to work for me. I don't know why it's giving me such a problem suddenly, but it seems like a good idea to stop. I guess I ought to email my doctor, but I don't know. I feel like telling him I'm going to stop his treatment will be seen as disrespectful or something and then he won't want to keep helping me out. Just seems like everything I've tried lately, the Flagyl for 3 months, the boric acid, and now the Clindamycin cream is just giving me bad reactions and making things worse, where as before, the Flagyl and Clindamycin at least, weren't making things better, but they weren't making it that much worse either. The boric acid just made me bleed because I think it was too harsh. Blarg! -
Perhaps you've developed a sensitivity to them after using them several times before? I heard Boric acid is very harsh and the consistency is gritty which can graze the vaginal tissues so that's probably why it made you bleed, I haven't tried it personally but it does sound severe. I think it's fine to email your doctor, if the treatment is making you worse it's better to tell him or he won't try anything else with you because he won't know there's a problem.Comment

I went back to the doctor and all my tests were negative and normal of course- I totally expected that! They nixed the hydrocortisone/ clidamycin/ estrogen suppository due to lack of a specific pharmacy to compound the suppository- the cost would also be enormal. When I mentioned that I had read Doctors prescribing hemorrhoidal preparations because of the higher milligram of hydrocortisone contained - they said no due to other inactive ingredients that can thin the lining if the vaginal wall. Well the practitioner said to try h2o and vinegar douch mildly 2-3 x weekly. I told her that I had been there and done that and reminded her once again just how long this has been going on. So- they went ahead and gave me a scrpt for the vaginal estrogen cream (premarin). But when I got home for some reason I thought I would try a small amount of just plain water vaginally to see what happened and it was so weird. I swear I havnt felt that clean in a long time kinda normal and my redness and puffiness went away. It came back after about 8 hrs But It really made me wonder if what I'm dealing with isn't atrophic vaginits. I don't know. I havnt stared the estrogen cream yet because I turned around and got my period and I am still reading the insert. My doctor assures me that it is such a low dose that you needn't worry about heart attack and stroke. However I am a 36 year old and I smoke. Anyway-Sarah- Have you heard of kraurosis vulvae? It is in the literature for the premarin cream because premarin cream is used as a treatment for it too. I was just wondering. I can't find a lot of info on it but it sounds a lot and ay bein the same class as lichen sclerosis.Comment

No I've never heard of that one, I'll have a look and see what I can find. We're about the same age r3dh3ad and I smoke too. I'm not sure premarin is the best oestrogen cream, it may work so don't get disheartened, but I know it's the one that has pregnant mare urine in it and they recommend estrace and that kind of thing because they haven't. However you've got further than me by getting ANY oestrogen cream so well done for convincing them and I hope it works! I'm due for my dermatology appointment on 9th August so I should hopefully find out soon if it's a skin condition or non specific inflammation, if it's non specific I too will have to start the begging for oestrogen cream again, sigh.Comment

I can only find information online about Kraurosis Vulvae saying it's the old name for Lichen Sclerosis, I don't think I have LS as I haven't got any itching and most of the sites say itching is the main symptom. Still I expect I'll find out for sure after the 9th. I've had a change of heart about Colloidal Silver for the time being and have decided to try Olive Leaf Extract Capsules to boost my immune system. I've bought some made my Solgar so good quality and will start taking them shortly. I'm sure my immune system is on the fritz this year, since February I've had 2 colds, an ear nose and throat infection, a uti, laryngitis and of course developed the inflamed skin in the vulva which all sounds a bit much for 6 months! I'd expect that amount of illnesses to be over at least a few years normally so my immune system clearly needs some help!Comment

I'm back again with a really random question. Some friends of mine invited me to go to the lake this weekend. I don't know how to swim, but I imagine they're going to give me a life jacket and throw me in regardless. The thought of being in a lake full of bacteria and who knows what doesn't settle so well with me in general, but more so because of this lady problem going on. Do you guys think it'd be a bad idea to go into the lake? I mean, I know it's not like all the lake water will go on up inside, but just for it to be touching my area at all, I don't want to introduce more bacteria or something, even on the outside.
I'm sure this sounds like a ridiculous thing to ask, but I really don't know lol
I've thought about this in relation to taking showers at well. There is some funky stuff in my water, judging from the taste at least and I'm starting to think maybe I should buy some water just to wash the kitty with. Again, am I just worrying too much about these small things or what? >.>Comment

I saw a Women's Health Physiotherapist yesterday to get her opinion on what's going on with my pelvic floor. I was pretty shocked! Apparently a normal resting tone is about 2 or 3 and mine was sitting at a whopping 20! She'd never seen anyone with such a high resting tone before and obviously this is going to be restricting blood flow to the vulva and pressing on nerves and all kinds of things so she thinks my spasmed pelvic floor may be my problem! I've been given some exercises to do at home and she estimates it will take about 6 months to see real changes due to my hypermobility, if I wasn't hypermobile it would take about 3 months so I've got alot of pelvic floor relaxing to do!Comment
