I got online trying to find some information on this problem and came across this website. I had a hysterectomy back in 1997 when I was pretty young. Ever since then things have never been the same. But it seems like within the last year I have had these bacterial infections, one after the other over and over. A few years ago I was having yeast infections over and over. I don't get it! Why is this happening?

I suffered in silence for a long time. I was even embarrassed to talk to my husband about it. (He now researches online for me from time to time.). After opening up to other women, I have found out that it's actually quite common. I've tried to find a common factor with those women to see if the we had anything in common that triggers it.Comment

ladies...i have been dealing with bv for years!!! I just recently gave birth 2 a baby boy i thought all my troubles were over. Now my son is 4 mths and bv came right back! I personally hate taking pills. I gag, vomit the whole 9. But so tired of goin to the dr. Already knowing what i have and going to the bathroom having to spray jus from urinating. Its so embarassing!!! I have an understanding partner but in public i hate it! I saw the commercial of pro-b. I thought this might be my life saver! The $30 is absolutely worth it!!!!! The pills are small and easy to swallow, no nasty bland taste. And best of all......it works!!!! Omg ive never been more happy!!!
Pro-b helped my bv and it can help so many other women!!! I urge you 2 try it out. U wont b sorry!!Comment

OLD cure - kefir!!!
I've been suffering from BV for at least two years but probably for a lot longer than that.
I had what I thought was thrush on and off for about 6 years (but now realise that this was alternating with BV) and eventually went on an anti-Candida diet about two and a half years ago.
Although the diet seemed to completely get rid of the thrush, I realised a few months later that a discharge returned withouth the itching, but this time with an odour. After attempting to treat with thrush medication, a search on the internet and a subsequent trip to my local GUM clinic confirmed BV.
Metronidazole tablets and cream worked but only temporarily, The BV always returned each time I had my period until I discovered BalanceActiv. Finally, something that worked and didn't make me feel terrible at all! Unfortunately, this is pretty expensive and not available on the NHS. As it needs to be used regularly as a preventative medicine, it got too expensive for me to continue.
I went back onto the internet and looked through loads of forums. Kefir (a fermented dairy product) kept coming up again and again but as it was a dairy product (which is to be avoided according to the anti-candi diet), I had always ignored it. Then I started noticing that people were mentioning it in relation to BV and lactose-intollerance and realised it couldn't really hurt to try.
I bought some grains on the internet in late December and began using them by the New Year. Now we're in March and I've had three periods and NO BV!!!!!!! I also notice last month that my discharge is completely back to normal - I'd forgotten that it's meant to change throughout your cycle
Went back to GUM clinic a couple of weeks ago and nurse checked to see if I may have any BV waiting to reappear ( I can't remember the term she used, but she said that it can sometimes hide and appear suddenly, but I am totally in the clear
One thing though, as sex can be a trigger (more to do with having something up 'there' than an actual STD), and I haven't sex for months, she thought that there may be a chance of it reappearing when I do have sex again. In case this happens, I have been prescribed some more cream just in case but - here's hoping!Comment

when u say insert....did u place it inside ur vagina????? if so the pill is an oral supplement u take it with liquid!!!! sumthin that i do when the smell is outrageous is take a bottle that you would dousche with and fill it with vinegar and water 2 dilute it. i think the ones that they sell in the store already made is way to diluted for the vinegar to do its magic..try to lay on ur back instead of over the toilet so everythin doesnt come out immediately lay down flat for bout maybe 30, 45 seconds. then proceed over the toilet u will c the vinegar attacks all the discharge and that'll ease the smell. but i still really think u should try the pro-b pills. today is my 7th day and the smell and discharge is gone! good luckComment
