If your using products like that, no wonder you are having trouble. Those 'feminine products' are junk. Bubble baths will also lead to problems. Stay clear of any of those products. Cleaning with warm water and your fingers is all you need. No soap. No cleanses. No perfumed products. Stay away from perfumed tampons or pads, also Always brand products are notorious for causing reactions. You should also use a die and perfume free laundry detergent. We are killing ourselves with all of these extra chemicals.

Try the probiotic strains that contain Lactobacillus Reuteri and Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, like Fem Dophilus and Nature's Way Primodophilus Reuteri.

Read my very long post about the treatments and reasons why certain ones work and certain ones don't. Nothing will change if you continue to use the same treatment.

I am down to one Primodophilus Reuteri a day, and I have been BV free for 2 months!

Hello all, my next appointment with a gyno is 5th june...

i am planning on using a yoghurt inter-vaginally with Lactobacillus Acidophilus in it, it also has Strep Salivarius ssp. Thermophius and Bifidobacterium Longum - i am just wondering if this is a good idea and also, excuse my naive attitude, but do i just rub it in or should i use a tampon covered with the yoghurt?

Ive also ordered Natures Way Primodophilus Reuteri... lets hope there will be some relief from this....

Yeh, I took that antibiotic too. It gave me many icky side effects. I was supposed to take 2 a day for 7 days(14 pills). I managed to get 6 pills down before I had to stop taking it. It did cure the infection. I have only had it that one time. I was told and have read that you are reinfecting yourselves from your partner, that he needs to take something as he can hold that bacteria somewhere in his penis and he never has any symptoms. So, ask your doc about your partner taking something at the same time you do.

Yup, this is true...he usually has to go on a course of antibiotics. I always, always use condoms now and that has definitely helped.

I can only relate to this:-

"From puperty til can't remember actually but never again,

Point being: Swelling, itching, discharge, smell, i recall it all.

              My cure?

              1. Hot baths with salt lots.
              2. Followed by natural yoghurt yuk, all over your nickers.

              Followed by gone.

I am no way anti medication, i had a huge fall in 1999, 20% disability, could not move my body, Panadene Fort yep, sleeping tablets of course.

It's just that this was recommended to me, and it worked.

Severe, sure antibotics may be necessary, but prevention i have not read anything here.

              1. Condoms/lubs, some contain things we just can't stomach our bodies are sensitve.

              2. Birth control pills, change it... if your on one and feeling this pain that we don't need, seek advice. I changed mine, and whilst i listed (2) this could be a third.

              3. Nylon.... A killer in getting you to swell and itch and discharge.

              4. Tight nickers or jeans around the croutch, it can't breathe.

Lastly Miffed23, glad he went on antibotics and is supporting this femanine thing we have to put up with hey?

Experience only, so factual but not certainly the answer to all, hopefully some...

I used one of those applicators left over from some of the prescription junk I got. I have also used syringes (with no needle of course). I just put it in at night before bed so it would mostly stay put.

I was on antibiotics too, it finished two days ago, I was also on the cream too. I suspect it was making me dizzy. but I still took it. I was taking it twice a day. after I stop, everything came back. the irritations, and now a slight yellow discharge. but nothing seems to be helping it's so annoying. I sleep with no panties to get some air.. I don't know what to do anymore. I have to call my doc for another appointment. That's second antibiotics he priscribed me...my gyn seems like he don't know what I have or how to cure it...
                  it's frustrating.

Not to be too nosy, but if the pain occurs during penetration and is around the vaginal opening/inside of the vaginal wall, and not in your abdomen or higher up, near your cervix, perhaps that's it.

Its called - and I am wrong here so you have to check online - vulvo-something vestibularis.

DepressedCherie - Could you have an allergy to your clothing detergent? Try washing all your undies and whatnot in a fragrance-free, dye-free laundry detergent and no fabric softener and see what happens. That was the solution the doctor recommended to a friend who thought she was having constant yeast infections but everything was negative. It was the dyes and perfumes in the soap. And only wash yourself with Dove, no scented body washes or bath soaps that we all love.

                    Hope that helps!!
I'm not sure if that could be the reason. I only use gain for my laundry. and I wash my panties by hands...except for that last time before all of that problems. I used to think it must been because my panties wash in a public laundromat..but I don't know. but since then, I have done that..and still having it.

I am so pleased to share that I have found an answer!

Eat a raw food diet. Living foods have enzymes that break down the yeast and bacterial in our bodies to "reset" the bodies' system.

I feel incredibly empowered by this lifestyle.

I no longer depend on the medical profession who have no answers except prescriptions. I too tried multiple trials of Flagyl and all the other medications used for BV. They didn't work.

No more am I inserting Vitamin C, yogurt covered tampons, or hydrogen peroxide into my vagina. I also tried hundreds of dollars worth of supplements.

My vagina has finally stopped "crying"....to me, my experience with chronic BV left me feeling powerless and depressed. My vagina literally weeped all day and night.

I experienced the positive results of this way of living within 3 days!

My friends in the "raw world", who have overcome other types of physical health challenges from eating raw, tell me that individuals can "go back" to eating 50% raw meals and remain symptom free if they remain raw for 30 days.

Eating these healthy foods literally make me feel a happy natural high. I am more at peace, feel more connected to my body, others people and the Earth. I'm not going back.

There are lots of great books on the market that relate to raw food lifestyles. I highly recommend picking one up!
