Honestly I think this whole "sex hurts the first time" thing is blown WAY out of proportion. Okay yes, it hurts the first time for SOME people, fine. But not nearly for everyone. Not even close.

LONG before I had sex, I had thoroughly explored myself with my fingers there (which I recommend to everyone, if you haven't done so yet, nothing wrong with getting to know your body). On top of that, I had been using tampons. So, when my boyfriend at the time first put his penis there, I was like... whoop de friggin do.

I don't know. Maybe there's an element of romance or something, thinking that it will hurt the first time?? Is it cuz of all those movies and romance novels??

I wonder how often it hurts just because the woman is so afraid of it hurting that she tenses up? But year I've noticed too how many people make it sounds like the first time is awful and very painful. Who knows, maybe a secret conspiracy by parents to scare kids away from sex.

Especially these days a woman should explore herself and become familiar with her body, and hopefully any couple where the woman is still a virgin will do enough to each other before having sex for the first time to where the nerves are pretty much gone and replaced by excited anticipation by the time the big moment arrives.

I don't think so, my first time hurt and I bled a bit. However it didn't hurt awfully. We had played around and he had fingered me quite a bit several times before, I would get aroused and be fairly wet. I was so uninformed and naive that I had no idea what we were doing and no expectation that it might hurt.

Hard as it may be to believe I actually had no idea what intercourse or getting pregnant involved, I had a vague idea that it had something to do with navels because I'd been told not to let anyone see mine. I wasn't tense. Later when I explained to my best freind what we had done, she started yelling at me, "this means you're not a virgin anymore!" My response was, "What's a virgin?"
