I know that site also, the one they are talking about is linked at the bottom of the WH page.

I think when a guy goes on the internet to do sex research, he gets sidetracked easily. After indulging in some erotic homework, he loses interest and decides to check out sports news. Then you have a jillion threads on here about men with porn addictions, maybe they are just trying to learn to be better lovers? Ha!

I do a lot of reading on here, but not much posting. Women are a challenging adventure, so the more I know the better. I think there may be more guys like me that know better than to trust other guys for sex advice, but dont know exactly what to ask either.

          best answer

But to add something, just look at how many threads we have about women who cannot orgasm; they are not afraid to say so and they ask for help (myself included). I just wonder how many men would post "I don't have an erection with my wife even though I love her", "I lose my erection too easily" or "I am just not as much into sex as my wife is", not half as many as women. No man wants to put his sexual issues in public, he's afraid of being judged as a man. We say "women overanalyze things" but don't men do as well? If a man has such an issue he starts thinking "if I say this then the other men will laugh at me, I won't be man enough to them no matter what they say", so they don't post at all and keep it to themselves
Also, many men don't want to give details about their sexual life because they feel they sexually "own" their woman. Who would post that his girl does this and that and risk having another man imagining "his" girl doing these things? (that is overanalyzing from men's point of view). They don't dare post "what more should I do to please my girl?" they risk being called "softies" who instead of just having a rough quick one want to actually please their woman (and then they risk an eww reply from "macho" men).

The world is just messed up.
best answer near to truth i found, is what said above.

I came to this site to seek answers for women. Not answers from men. I understand the male side of things, it is the female side I seek. I didn't think I would find that at Mens Health.

Unlike the post above, I do have a hard time reaching orgrasm if my DW does not before me. To me that is the most beautiful thing in the world, the sounds of her pleasure.

And that is totally alright by us! But my point with the above quoted lines was that when men are around men they seem to have a more difficult time to express their sexual issues than do so with women. Women are seen as more understanding, while men are also subconsciously 'rivals'. I think it's harder for a man to be open about his erectile dysfunctions, for example, in a forum full of men who brag how good their sex life is, instead of a forum full of women whose first thoughts would be "let's help this man" instead of "let's brag first about me not having this problem and THEN try to help".

I think women are a lot more comfortable talking with eachother about sex, for the most part. I definitely can't talk about all men, but I think it's true that they tend to not over analyze it. From what I've heard from my friends about their own boyfriends, it sounds like men tend to think it all works and not question it.

I know that my guy cares a lot. He would probably be too shy to talk about anything with anonymous people on the internet himself, but we always work together on problems and improvement.

Jeannie, do you know much about methodology? How can you base your figures on absolute figures without knowing the absolute figures of members on the respective websites? Maybe there are few men on that website than the women's website? Maybe there are more male websites so the men are spread less densely on each website?

I'm new here so I apologize if this site was discussed before

It is a PE site, but sex is the foremost issue. There are thousands of men on that site who are very concerned with sex and pleasing their partner.
