APRIL 2011 POSTER OF THE MONTH

But it would make sense that some sort of biology is involved with preferences for body shapes, would it not?
The biology has been there since the beginning of time. Women who would be the best for child bearing would be chosen over the ones that did not quite match up to the same type of figure.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

Admittedly, I know you're right... On the flip side, this would mean that more shallow guys will approach the thinner woman than the thicker woman. Kinda sounds like a double-edged sword, really. Kinda sounds like exterior beauty can be a curse for women sometimes.

I mean no offense with what I say. I'm here to learn and share if I can
This is so true. People have a tendency to envy beauty but for all the advantages, there are many disadvantages. My sister was beautiful. I remember the summer she turned 14 yrs, suddenly men and boys flocked around like mad dogs. I was 12 and we were best friends neither of us could understand why men would shout from cars, construction sites (this was in NYC) and approach her and start talking. All we knew was that we could not go out and ride our bikes out anymore because she was embarrassed and began to want to stay at home.

When I look back on it, that summer was the being of the end of my sister who died at 21. She was shy and sensitive and like me, sheltered and unworldly. But she had something that men wanted, badly and were sometimes ugly and crude in their approach to her. Plus we loss all our girl friends no one wants to be friends with a beautiful girl and her baby-faced 12 yo sidekick, me. Now I think of it, maybe it was that side-kick that made every body disappear.

It's better to have some flaws. People can relate and see you. People have a tendency to project attributes on to the beautiful and then treat them accordingly as if they have no innate attributes. My sister was nearly flawless in face, body, hair but she couldn't carry all of that perfection and it eventually led to her demise. Seeing what happened to her has colored my view of men. At the tender age of 12 yrs., being exposed to the raw animal-like reaction of some of the men would scare anyone, we both retreated. But men seem to be relentless so she did not escape her fate, sadly. That's another story.

        I'm so very sorry.

Unfortunately, I can imagine what it was like... and I shutter.

I hope you have found Peace since then.

One's own truth is so simple, most people ignore it to concentrate on what they feel is a "Deeper" truth.

Lanabear when I was much younger I would have agreed that thin drew more attention, but what do you know at 16? Though I find few models pretty, I like the girl (or should I say Wife/Mother) next door better now.

I saw a woman that helped me at the bank the other day that was short and very curvy and I couldn't help but wonder what funny noises she made in the throws of passion or what she looked like under the sweater and skirt she was wearing.

I find as I age, everything is beginning to look good. That being said my wife who was also my girlfriend in high school was not built like any of the other girls. She had a womanly curve body at young age. She thought she was fat (compared to her friends), I thought she was very very hot.

I and all of the other guys that say it all looks good are being very truthful. It really does all look good right now. I saw a ~25 year old and her mother walking into a store and it dawned on me as I close in on the end of my 30's, they both looked pretty good and interesting.

As far as the women mentioned in this poll. I'd vote for all if it was an option. As far as all of the women out there, you have no idea how beautiful many of you are to us.
