    STD situation

So back in April I caught chlamydia. In january i was on a break from my ex bf, and i gave a guy a bj and he fingered me a week later i went to the clinic and i had the mouth herpes which my doc said is transfered non-sexually and i could of had it long before this guy she said I didn't need a pap cause I didnt have intercourse with him. Then me and the "bf" got back together for 2 months and he finally tells me he cheated on me now I had been having unprotected sex with him and when I went to get tested chlamydia came back. he goes and get tested and nothing comes back, my doctor tells me there is no way the guy i gave a bj could of give this to me it would of been my bf would of had to since it was found of my cervex and chlamydia doesnt show in men. Then he tells me he only cheated on me to get me to stop contacting him I still think he cheated on me cause how else would I have gotten chlamyida? what do you guys think? did i get this from my ex bf or the other guy?

Probably got it from your ex since he did admit to cheating on you, and as far as I know, you can't catch chlamydia from fingering. Giving a BJ, there are things you can get from that but it was found in your vagina so it would have to have been through intercourse. I could be wrong though...

Sort the honesty issue and the STD problem will become clear. Someone is lying.

That's exactly what i thought. My doctor and a few others said I got it from my ex bf becuase the other guy was a 1 time thing and it was just fingering and a bj. If i did catch chlamydia from this 1 guy it would of been in my mouth not on my cerex. My ex still denies cheating on me maybe during our time apart he was with someone but i know i did get it from him - it doesn't appear magically. It doesn't show in men and I know he's lying. I've learned to be safe the hard way.

There is also the possibility that you've had it for a while and it only recently began to have symptoms, that is one of the problems with diseases like chylmidia... it can sometimes show symptoms, sometimes not, and sometimes not for months or even longer... and the longer a person goes without treatment... the more at risk they become for developing pelvic infammatory disease which can lead to infertility. Had you had unprotected sex with anyone else before your boyfriend? Or had he had been with another woman before you guys were ever together? If either of you had unprotected sex before your relationship with each other.. depending how long you guys have been together, there is the possibility that you've had it for a while and only recently developed symptoms... but your doctor would be better at telling you how long you may have had it , I'm not sure whether they can or not.

You can't get it in your vagina from giving a blow job, even if you gave your boyfriend a blow job right after then had sex with him... you wouldn't have passed it from your mouth to your vagina via someone elses penis. (sounds confusing... hope you know what i mean) because its carried in the semen and semen can't live in your mouth as far as i know. So as long as a signficiant time had passed from when you gave that guy oral to when you were with your boyfriend that is even less likely.

I can't imagine he had semen on his finger when he fingered you, spreading it that way. Sperm don't live that long out in the air but I don't know about disease that is carried in it... as far as how long it may be viable on a finger to spread that way.

Its highly unlikely fingering or a bj gave you vaginal chylmidia, but there is still a chance that your bf didn't cheat... if you'd had chylimidia all along either from another partner you had before him... or from him when you guys first got together but remained unsymptomatic till now. Did you also have PID? That usually only develops after a person has had chylimidia for an extended period of time.

Make sure your bf gets tested... he may not have symptoms but he may still have it... men get chylimidia too and can just keep passing it to you. Its a dangerous diseases because of the scarring that it can cause to yoru fallopian tubes so its something you want to make sure is completely gone on you and that he is treated for as well so that you don't get it again and run the risk of being symptom free until you get pelvic pain... which is not a good thing, both because of the pain and because of the scarring.

Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.

            Thanks for this.

I started dating my bf Sept 2009 and we broke up April 2010 but there was a month or so apart when I had the 1 time expierence with the other individual. As of October 2009 I was clean and I was tested again in April 2010 and chlamydia came back and during that time the bf was the only one I had vaginal sex with. The STD since has been cleared from my system but I know I got it from my bf there is no way I could of gotten it from the other guy as you said. I only had unprotected sex once before many years ago and I've barely slept around. He was treated for it but thinks I could of given it to him because it came up negative in his report. I just know I got it from him as it doesn't show in men and there was nobody else. He still insists he didn't cheat but it pretty much shows that he did if I have this awful STD.

Well, at least be glad that it was something curable and not something more serious that could put your life in danger. In any event, you need to have a serious talk with your ex, and he should be treated as well so he doesn't give it to someone else.

Be careful about giving unprotected blow jobs. Did you know that you can get gonorrhea and herpes in your mouth from unprotected oral sex? If you are unlucky to get infected with a virulent strain of herpes virus you can get oral cancer in the years later.

It takes years to get the cancer but the incidence is going up for woman even now woman now that oral sex is a common practice. Bj are not safe without protection. If you have vaginal sex and wear a condom then for your protection have him wear a condom during oral sex. Better yet only give a man a bj when you are in a committed monogamous relationship it's safer that way. You are the one in danger not him so why should you do something that gives him pleasure but does nothing for you but put you at risk of cancer in future years?

It's not well advertised I think it is because women are at risk not men and men are addicted to the practice. If men were getting cancer of the manhood there would be health warnings all over the place. If you don't believe me, google it. In 10 years the incidence or oral cancer is going to spike because so many woman are giving random guys bj and don't know the danger. I think in about 5 yrs the bj practice approached as cautiously as vaginal sex I hope.

If he refuses to wear a condom, don't give him a bj. Don't give bj to random guys did you know the number of partners you give bj to increases your chances of oral cancer?

                    Hi Allie,

Yes, I have learned my lesson. I haven't had that much sex in my life at all (about 4 partners). Should I be worried about get oral cancer down the road? I do have HS1 but the doctor said it was acquired non-sexually and about 80% of the population suffers from it.
