    vaginal tear with bumps

A few mornings ago, my boyfriend and I were having sex. Towards the end, the last few pumps were really deep and I felt like I opened up to make more room. Didn't hurt at the time, but throught the day, I felt a soreness worse than what I sometimes get after sex. Especially felt it when I peed--like and actually cut. Two nights later, still hurt a little but I thought I'd be ok to go yoga. Skipped the poses that would most stretch my vagina, but between this and the sweat, I feel that the tear got worse. Soon after (that night or the next), I noticed a red, irritated bumps on my inner butt cheek, close to my vagina and the cut. It was slightly painful to the touch. Looked a little like a zit, with a white-ish head, though not quite like a pimple that has come to head. I felt a little worried, but had been putting vasoline on the area around the cut to soothe it, and thought it may be a clogged pore bc of that and sweat from yoga. Around this time, the pain was getting worse. Horrible stinging during urination and even walking around and sitting, I could feel it. Feels better in water (showers and went swimming in non-clorinated water).

Last night, I was looking at the cut and the bump, and it looked like the bump could be an irritated in-grown hair. There was a dark colored speck towards the center, and I decided to use tweezers to see if I could get the hair out and if it would go down. I did get a few hairs out, but the dark spot in center didn't seem to be a hair. Bump leaked a little and I cleaned it out and dried.

Meanwhile, cut itself seems to be getting slightly better. Past 2-3 days, my vagina seems to be secreting some kind of liquid that has an odor to it. I don't know if this is me trying to heal myself or something else. Also, though, when I showered this morning, I touched the area and it didn't hurt quite as much to the touch, but I noticed that after I picked at the bump, there are 2-3 more, smaller bums on the lips of my vagina. This worries me the most of anything. They also are in areas that could be clogged up from hair, or the secretion, but I'd really like some advice. I can't help but fear that this is some kind of sexual disease. I just don't understand this link between the tear (which I did feel), the secretions, and the bumps. Please help!

I couldn't help but read your post, and honestly I wouldn't know what it is, however I really think you should go to the doctor just to be safe. STD's is possible, and its very scary to go on unknowingly when you can find out soon and your worries may be laid to rest. Do you think it might be a cyst? I've had one in that area before and it was very painful, but when it pops it feels alot better. I know that sounds gross but our bodies go through some weird things. Go to the doctor, find out what it is, that is safest thing you can do. Good luck!

The vagina can stretch to hold a baby during childbirth, and I doubt your boyfriend is that large! So while you might be a bit bruised, and maybe even abraded, it seems unlikely that you had an actual tear in your vagina. However, it sounds like you've got a variety of symptoms, and since I'm not a medical professional (and I couldn't diagnose over the internet even if I was!), it makes sense to see a doctor just to get some real answers. If you do have an STD, you and your boyfriend should both get treated ASAP so that it doesn't affect your long-term fertility and health.

I work for an OB/GYN and my advice to you is to get it looked at. It almost sounds like a herpes outbreak. If not, you have an infection that probably will require antibiotics. Bless your heart, that really sucks! I hope by the time you read this it's all taken care of! Let me know if you have any more questions.

in reply to "ladymoonlights" post it is possible to tear your vagina (not inside, but on the outside-ish area) if you are not lubricated enough yet (meaning you arent in the mood quite yet) if your boyfriend enters before you are "ready" it is possible that you could tear your vagina..

            same situation

Ok first off you do tear when you have a baby. The only thing that grows is the cervix and that?s only to 10cm. we should all know that.

Second I don't think you have an STD. I am actually going through the same thing right now. To be graphic because I am not modest my husband during sex our last time thought it would be cool to spread me apart. Well he spread me so far that it tore in numerous places between my vagina and butt hole and up my butt crack. It is very very painful now. I can?t seem to find a good way to sleep or sit. On top of it I noticed about 2 days after 3 bumps around my vagina, mind you the tears have not gotten any better by that time. So I got a mirror out and took a closer look and they do appear to be in grown hairs. Luckily I was going to see my OB Nurse the day I noticed them. I asked her about them. I said "I am not sure if they are sores or in grown hair bumps but I have three of them and they hurt like hell." she said they are more then likely in grown hairs and to put a hot compress on them for 15 minutes daily. Baths also seem to help tremendously. She didn?t seem too concerned in doing any tests at all. It?s been two days since I asked her about them and it seems to be getting better. All I am doing is taking baths and putting Vaseline on at night.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Um, wow. What we should all know is that, in addition to the cervix dilating, the actual vaginal canal also opens up to accommodate the baby. Not all women experience tearing when they give birth.

Also, the inner walls of your vagina, as well as all the outer parts, can be hurt. With too much friction (not enough lube), the inner vaginal walls can be susceptible to micro fissures, or tiny tears.

The bumps you are seeing may or may not be related to your other pain. Please see your doctor, sweetie.

Yes, i do believe that it IS possible that your boyfriend could actually be large enough. Sex for me is good until about ten minutes afterwards when i try to go to the bathroom. The skin around my vagina tends to tear every time i have sex! Especially because of the condom. If you're using condoms, even though most of them are lubricated, try using extra lubrication. It's not that my boyfriend is so large, it's because of the fast motions and everything plus the drying out of the condom and my vagina. It's really bad when i do it doggy style. It's not as bad when I'm on top. But i've never had any irritation other than a small tear, so you might want to get the bumps checked out, but it may not be anything but an irritation of the cut. Best of luck to you!

Vaginal tears are common. Sometimes they are caused be low estrogen levels, yeast infections or some other form of vaginitis. I wouldn't be concerned with an STD. I would go get checked out at the gyn though. Especially if it keeps occurring.

Wow. It took me awhile, but I finally found some record of someone going through exactly what I am. The beginning of the week I decided to see the doctor on Saturday, so all week I've been researching. Just goes to show how unreliable the internet can be when every other website makes me think I either have herpes or I don't. Now I'm so freaked out I just told myself to expect herpes so as to prepare myself for tomorrow (though I'm still not sold on the idea).

I'll let you know what my diagnosis is. Hopefully I'll have some good news. =]
