    Do you masturbate?

May is Masturbation Month, and it is meant to bring more attention to the subject of masturbation and get people talking and debating. After all, some people happily masturbate, some abstain, and some don't even want to think about or talk about the subject.

So I thought we could get things moving by taking a poll on who does and doesn't do it, and while the poll itself is anonymous, it would be great if as many people as possible would explain their poll choice, and if you count among those who want to neither confirm nor deny that they masturbate, maybe you could offer some reasons for your reluctance to talk about the subject.

I voted Yes. I don't have any problem masturbating or admitting to it, because I think human beings are sexual creatures and it is a natural and healthy part of life.

For me, the only time masturbation is wrong is if it becomes an addiction, or if you have an able and willing partner but you would rather masturbate than have sex.

Why do you think the mods made me Poster of the Month,

Or shall I say "Poster Child" for "May is National Masturbation Month"

I take that as a Yes.

But if you were having sex on a regular basis, do you think you would still masturbate in addition, or would that be the end of masturbation for you?

I do. But honestly my desire to do it is about once a month, so I am not sure if that should even qualify as doing it lol.

Well, if that ever happens, I'll let you know.

But, hypotherically speaking, I would say that it would be a yes.

I could make love with my wife 2X a day and still masturbate. Statistics show that 99% of all men masturbate and the other 1% lie about not masturbating... just kidding... I have no idea what the statistics are, it just sounded funny!!!

No doubt this thread will get lots of views, but I wonder how many votes there will be, and even how many replies.

Yup, I certainly do, and am not ashamed of it. I don't see what is so wrong about touching my own body and bringing myself pleasure. I've been single for quite a while, so I have no other means of sexual release. As Tex said, I only see masturbation being a problem if it interferes with my life in some way or gets in the way of sex with a partner. I'm not hurting anyone, I'm not hurting myself, so what's the big deal?

Hmmm so far I'm the only naysayer, lol. I said no because although I've tried to masturbate in the past, it was never with any success. I never got anywhere with it no matter how hard I tried, so eventually I kind of gave up on it. It took a while, but I realize now that I don't get turned on enough to really get pleasure out of it (even though I still can't quite reach climax under any circumstance) unless someone else is there with me Now, I can honestly say that I don't because I really don't get turned on enough to want to do something about it unless my boyfriend is there, and then of course we can do things that are more fun than masturbating. When he's not around, I really don't get the urge. Hence, I think I can honestly say that I really don't masturbate. If I knew I could reach the eventual goal I probably would though.
