Jane Thomas Blog Posts on Front Page

What do you guys think of the blog posts by author Jane Thomas on the front page?

I think that many of them are contemptible - treating women as objects that sex just HAPPENS to, calling them uninformed, calling all intercourse rape, saying that only men rape, men believe that women enjoy sex just to please themselves, etc.

I've complained about this author but have been ignored. Frankly, I'd delete these posts as trolling if they were on the forum. I don't think they are a good example of the kind of attitude and community we've cultivated here on WH.

    What does everyone else think?

Some of her blogs are okay... but then others make sweeping generalizations of both women AND men. Considering the volume of young women (and men) who visit WH, I agree that a lot of what she writes is not in line with the empowering, independent, warm environment we try to promote here.

Gathering information is much easier and more plentiful with the internet available at the tips of most peoples fingers. Once upon a time, women weren't as vocal about what they wanted or needed. Their main source of information came from mothers and friends (if they weren't too embarrassed to discuss sexual issues). It seems to me that some of her opinions, concerning the information she has gathered, is based on a dated, misguided premisses.

Many of the things she says are meant to be provocative and start conversations. I only read her articles once in a while. I generally would not use them as source material.

I have only read a few and I don't remember what they were because I discounted them. What I do remember is reading stuff over and over again trying to make sure she was saying what I thought she was saying because it sounded so backwards. I was wondering what possessed you all to put her on the front page. I got the same impression from her that I get from someone who thinks their own experiences are universal principles.

I wasn't offended. If I had read her before I found the forums I probably would have moved on though. It would have been unfortunate, because there is much better information here.
