Hello roxie1-
There is virtually no way to answer this question for every women. Every woman is different. Some women will have a one night stand or sleep with a man on the first date as a general practice. Some women will only have sex if they are married to that man. Some women have a 3 or 4 date rule. Some women have a 1 or 2 month rule. There are some women who only make that move when a man ignites them. There may or may not be a time limit. Most women will let a man know when she's ready.

When I was younger 22 I dated a gal who was on the rebound from an engagement breakup. We went snow skiing, out to eat, take drives to no where and talked and talked. It was the first relationship I had after getting my heart ripped out.We had fun and I always metioned I wanted to jump her bones but she said she was "saving herself for marraige."
Ok i played it cool until one night I dry humped her crazy. She still didn't want me.After 4 months or so she told me she was getting back with her ex.Another dissapointment but I was cool with it.A while later she met me at work wanting me to go away for a weekend but I had already started dating someone else.It was then I realized If it ain't happening it ain't happening but my relationship with her was special and made me a different dating type. And that experience served me well.Comment

so confusing
well its wierd i dont think this is as much about :the guy: as it is about me... my story i was married for 9 years and i am afraid of gettin stuck in another bad relationship. i think i tend to see sex and the binding thing that will do that. i mean i have fooled around with him seriously and that dosesnt bother me but sex is binding. i am scared. hell we all have our baggage i know i am not uniqueComment

You don't have to have sex unless you want to. Wait 6 months ... wait a year ... wait until you get married again if you ever do!
A guy who likes you for you will wait. He'll wait as long as it takes.
If he really wants you and if he really deserves you, sex won't be the issue. Your happiness will be, and that's how it should be.
You think sex is important (so do I!) and shouldn't be taken lightly, and that's what separates the men from the boys.
Good luck
