    At the proverbial crossroads

So I was hanging out with the girl I've been seeing for the past couple weeks and she drops those words I was fearing most. "Where do you see us going?"

I was just enjoying meeting up every weekend, hanging out either alone or with mutual friends, and then of course the sex. But now it sounds like she wants to be in a serious relationship.

The thing is I've never been in a relationship before, and I guess its cuz I'm 31, but I'm afraid I'm gonna mess this up somehow. I don't want to hurt her. I don't know anything about women, so I see her getting hurt inevitably if I say or do something wrong. Am I just being paranoid?

Is there anyway she might be convinced to just hang out and have sex indefinitely? I don't want to miss out because I think she's really hot and I doubt I could ever get another girl like her.

No, girls don't want to just hang out and have sex indefinitely

If she's interested enough in you to ask 'where do you see us going'..

    She's looking for commitment.

SO... what did you say to her when she asked?

I straight up told her I hadn't thought about it, because honestly I hadn't. Obviously it was fairly awkward after that so I said I was going home but I promised we'd "talk about it" this weekend.

If you don't want to be in a committed relationship, then tell her so. But understand that may end things between you if that is what she is actively seeking.

You need to decide if you're just fearful of a relationship because it's new and kind of intimidating, or if you're legitimately not interested in a relationship at this point.

What do YOU want? Where DO you see yourselves going? It's a fair question she poses to you, and certainly not uncommon. Think about it, be honest with yourself, and then sit down with her this weekend and be honest with her.

Ok, so it's not easy, but it is pretty simple. Do like you said, think about it and then be honest.

You may not want to "screw-up" the relationship but if what she wants and what you want aren't compatible then it's already screwed. There may be some compromise room if you're close enough together in what you want but you have to know and articulate what it is that you do and don't want. Be upfront about this being your 1st relationship so she knows where you're coming from, that you're a relationship newbie. She may be turned off by it, but you've had a chance to establish something already so I think not and knowing will probably soften whatever her stance is, leave you that wiggle room.

Well it's only been a couple weeks,, why do you think she's in such a hurry,, perhaps you can tell her you see your relationship progressing...

You are 31 and ask this question honestly? The answer is "of course not" (yes, I am sure that there are rare exceptions, but a woman who asked "where do you see this going" is not the exception). If you are not ready for a commitment, just tell her honestly. She can then make the decision whether to stay or leave.

If all you've done with her is hang out for a few weekends and had sex, you probably don't know her well enough to even figure out if she is the one. Look beyond her hotness and make a reasoned decision.

Step up to the plate and swing at the fast ball if she made a point to say where are we going with this relationship then she likes you. But wants some kind of commitment from you. All of a sudden she talks about the big C word and now you are lost how to act around her. Did your brain all of sudden shut off after hearing it. Please you are being way to paranoid she doesn't want to be a FB forever. Either man up and commit or be per-pair to look for another FB then. But she probably wants kids and have a family life not the girl friend life forever the ball is in your court now.

Women are human beings, just like you. Treat her like you want to be treated.

She might not even want what you and the others are thinking she wants. If being on these boards has taught you anything, is that their views, desires, and outlooks are as varied as ours. She could be just trying to get clarity.
