I read somewhere that IUDs were making a come back. Whatever sperm killer is used is supposed to stay in the uterus. Anyone heard this as well?

The concept of sperm-'killing' scares me a little. Many/most of us don't want to get pregnant, but I still have a tough time thinking of sperm as the enemy. I'd rather just head them off at the pass.

Some women hate the feel of condoms (my SO included) as do some men. If the OP was looking for a compromise that wouldn't screw with her hormones, an IUD is a possibility. I wore condoms religiously with my high school sweetheart who I eventually married. Turns out she needed mega fertility treatments to get pregnant. All that wasted latex.

I don't like Condoms myself effy, but an IUD is hard to get in the proper position, and they can leak so you need to use a spermicide anyway.

I don't like the idea of hormonal BC either but I've done it off and on my whole adult life, more to control cysts and erratic periods than for pregnancy prevention. I've been off for quite awhile now and I'm beginning to get painful cysts again.
I've been off hormones more than on, and latest studies show my history is worse than consistent use...sigh...but I'm hoping I can stay off. Removing my ovaries is another option, but I'm not excited to take that option either.
My point is, there are positives to hormones too. There are times the pro outweighs the con.

My thought is to stay off hormones as much as possible but it can be a necessary preventive or therapy method.
