Learned something new about my GF today...

So we had a pretty mild Saturday night. Dinner. Drinks. Movie at the historic Dome.

Anyway, we got to talking about homosexuality and I mentioned that I was convinced that every female had at least a little lesbian/bi in them until I met her (my GF). Well, turns out her mom shielded her from anything lesbian.

My GF never had a sleepover when she was a kid. She never had girl friends sleep over, nor was she allowed to sleep over at her friends' houses. The reason? Well, my GF found out that her mom was trying to shield her from any girl-on-girl experimentation (which is what may go on at sleep overs and slumber parties). When my GF was in her teens, her friend tried to kiss her on the lips on a couple oaccasions. My GF asked her friend wtf she was doing and her friend said "well that's how I show affection."

My GF was totally repulsed by the idea of kissing another girl and she told her friend just that. Even recently, a classmate tried to get my GF to try women (yes, while still in a relationship with me) and she refused. Now I am sure this classmate was not as suva as Jen might be, but the concept of not letting your daughter have or attend sleepovers for the sake of preventing hay/lesbian experimentation is new to me. She may have given in to such experimentation at a very young age since youths are easier to manipulate.

It sounds that way, many girls are taught to avoid contact with other girls, for that very reason, it's called "grooming".

There's probably some dude out there that believes that every man is a little "sweet." There's probably nothing you could say to convince him that he couldn't make you cross over. If you protested, he'd probably insist that you are lying or that he knows you better than you know yourself.

I remember in the late 90's there was this sudden awareness that a lot of men were secret bisexuals. They had wives or girlfriends and children, but were sneaking out to go to gay bars or parks to hook up with men. They were calling it "Down Low" or DL. There's a joke I remember: Ladies, if the streak in your man's underwear is in the front, instead of the back, he might be on the down low. It seemed to be this new wave. Women everywhere were suspicious of their men. But what it was is a realization of what had been going on for millennia.

Some people swing that way. Some people find it repulsive, or at least unattractive. Your lady is one of them. She's strictly dickly.

I didnt start realizing my appreciation for women until my late twenties or early thirties. Before then I had a rather strong response to anyone suggesting I kiss a girl.

I'm not suggesting sagf may be a late bloomer, but I think for some of us, it takes awhile to lose the negative attachments we grew up with regarding any homosexual tendency. I grew up being taught very strong religious and moral opposition and disgust for same sex relations. It was a different time.
I always thought women were pretty and loved seeing their bodies tho. It just took some time to leave that behind and accept my own thoughts on it.

Everyone should be given the chance 'right' to make up 'her' 'his' own mind what their sexuality is, I always knew what mine was, it just took me longer than most to act on it..

It was actually a bit of a struggle for me in my teens, I think for similar reasons to kitty - starting from the premise "that can't be" isn't very productive.

Anyway I think it's unfortunate about SAGF ....I don't have any desire for her to run off with a woman and leave SumSum behind lol, but being essentially brainwashed against something so fundamental as your sexuality could be a real lifetime crime against a person. Chances are she really is straight, but imagine if she wasn't and having the door to your lifelong sexual fulfillment slammed in your face at age 15. It would be tragic, really.

Lol. That's interesting about the DL thing in the late 90's. I was probably just too young to notice that.

I honestly don't think she will change. I mean, I am a little surprised myself by her position against being with other women is so strong.

Lmao, I'll pass on that imagination!

Oh, it was like 2 a.m. when I started the topic and I forgot to include something else. My GF said that for the sake of saving our marriage she would consider having an open relationship (assuming things got stale). I did not know how to respond to that. I think I was about to spit out my drink. She said her ex (whom she thought she was going to marry) had parents that would go to swingers clubs in Brazil to keep their marriage fresh. So the husband was having sex with other women and the wife was having sex with other men.

Well that's interesting. Were you surprised pleasantly or not so much?
