I decided oral was the best contraceptive after a bad experience. When I was 18 I got pregnant even though I was on oral contraceptives. I later learned that oral contraceptives fail 9% of the time. After that I swore I'd always try to avoid letting a man cum inside my vagina. So I started using oral as a substitute. I'd still have vaginal sex (I switched to an IUD which is both easier and more effective) but I'd only let the guy have vaginal with me a little while. And I'd make him swear before hand that he wouldn't cum inside my vagina. Of course some guys would fail and cum inside my vagina but thanks to the IUD I never became pregnant again. (I'd say only about 10% of my sexual encounters since then resulted in the guy cumming in my vagina.) This is another reason why I started doing anal sex. It's a shame because I love vaginal intercourse; I suppose I should just get my tubes tied because I don't think I'll ever have or want children. -
I think whenever the goal involves giving the other person an orgasm, using a part of your body, it's sex. Sorry kids!
Unfortunately nothing short of sterilization is 100%. And that's some pretty major surgery for a woman.I decided oral was the best contraceptive after a bad experience. You could reduce the odds by using two methods. Oral contraceptive and a condom, or spermicide if you're anti condom.Comment

"Counts" -- precisely what I was getting at. Why does it matter what counts as sex - is it because the teens don't have to lie to their parents that they had sex? Or, better yet, lie to themselves? Maybe it's all wrapped up in feelings -- one needs less of a committment or relationship to engage in oral sex than intercourse. That's kind of interesting to me, since I believe that oral is more intimate and that you need more trust, not less, when performing.
I suppose as a teen or early 20s, it is important to be able to say that you had less sexual partners than more. The older I have gotten the less "numbers" matter. How many came before me is irrelevant. It's the now and future that is important."The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you." Despair.com "Dysfunction"Comment

Great point effy. Girls in their teens and early 20's maybe really obsessed with numbers because they don't want to be perceived as "****s." I agree that oral once seemed more intimate to me but if you think about it objectively it's probably not; I think of my vagina as being more intimate than my mouth. In any case, I think its normal to be less concerned with numbers when you get older. I now think of my "number" not as a determent but as an asset; The more experience I've had, the better a lover I am.Comment

Even if I wanted to use my vagina to be more intimate, I can't. I've expressed numerous times that my body needs a strong amount of emotional intimacy to let someone penetrate me.Great point effy. The mouth is much easier to penetrate."Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment

Oral sex is sex.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
